I have a question for you all. I just bought a used 2018 TRD Sport. Love the truck and have owned Toyota's for many years. I was going to put some new wiper blades on the truck but I will be darned if I can figure out how to remove the original equipment blades. On past Toyota's there was usually a small lever that released it from the "Shepherd's crppk". On this one I do not see that so before I screw something up - what's the secret?
    Thanks,
    Russ

I think you can get refills for the factory frames. They'll work better at a lower cost than any parts house bit.

About a year ago i remember having to fiddle with mine for awhile too, llRC there was a little trap door that lifts open that will then allow you to remove them.

Shakerhood, you are right! There is a small latch or catch forward of where the arm meets the blade asm. Turns out you have to raise that section in order to pivot the blade perpendicular to the arm. Thanks for the tip.

A tip during replacement - don't leave your wiper arms up like that when grabbing your new blade - if the arm gets knocked down and smacks the windshield it could crack/ damage it..

I always fold up a bath towel and put it on the windshield before I mess with the wipers, just in case..

Another tip is to put your wipers back down before you open the hood :anonymous: that was me getting distracted

A 22" works for driver side and 21" for passenger side on Gen 2 Tacomas. Not sure about other models.

Right now Costco has Michelins on sale for $5.99 each. Regularly $8.99.

    Just replaced mine recently.

Hey Bill, do you know what size the refills are and where’s the best place to buy them? I recently put one on my 2013 Tacoma and there way better than an aftermarket brand.

I got the rubber inserts from the dealer, I paid about C$10 per and they installed them for me, for free. The inserts are designed to be replaced, no need to buy a whole new assembly.

I just bought some Michelin’s the other day. Thought they were gonna be nice, they are ok, but don’t fit snug on the wiper arms. I feel like In the winter I will have problems. Makes me want to dig the factory ones out of the trash and replace the inserts if they are available. If nothing else I’ll just stop st the dealer and grab a replacement Toyota brand set

For the '13 in your profile IIRC they are 21" and 22"

    At a dealership.
