Who sells the best knockoff TRD Pro Grille

Worth it in my opinion.

I honestly wish that I had gotten a knockoff Pro grill instead of OEM. For a few hundred bux the OEM part still feels fragile. Save your money.

 

I got the cheapest one on eBay. I am in management in a factory that manufactures parts for Toyota, plastic injection/paint. Visually, the grill is identical to stock, no defects.

 

Is that seller still active? Link?

 

I was part of another thread that was nothing but knockoff pro grilles and many of us went with $70-90 ebay ones. Definitely get the one that has the "Toyota" as one piece not the one that the T and A are separate. I think thats a good sign of quality difference with the knockoffs. I dont have to worry bout TSS but many others did. They said if they had any problems they cleared up after a couple days on their own.

 

Unfortunately, no. I just checked my eBay listing and they were no longer selling them.

 

It is hard to believe that there are many different manufacturers considering the injection mold would cost a literal fortune. The OEM are American made by Toyoda Gosei I believe, I dont recall seeing the makers mark on the knock off.

 

Here’s an update on my mad hornets grille.

One of the letters came off the grille, I have reached out to them to see if they will send me just the letter “A”or a replacement insert. I may buy the Tacoma beast letters to see if they even fit.

@FreshMexicanTaco Bought mine from this seller as well, not a single regret was had. Grill quality was phenomenal, fitment was spot on, and the letters are attached via screws behind grill so they're aren't going to just fall off one day. I recommend this vendor to anyone looking for the Pro grill at a great price.

 

Guys, 100% @FreshMexicanTaco grille at thetacogarage.com hands down no brainer. I've had two ebay specials, 1 of the 1-piece screw in letter grilles and 1 of the tape on letter ones. They both sucked for various reasons and both got pulled off. I was about to buy the OEM grille and then I saw that @FreshMexicanTaco revised his repro grille. Why is it the best?

Correct black back letters on T&A, no crappy all silver
Letters are all screwed in from back, no tape and are perfectly straight
Great matte finish
Paint quality on letters is great
1/2 price of OEM (even less when you don't need garnish)

I have no affiliation with the guy, he's nice and I'm grateful he worked through the kinks on these repros.

 

I heard back from mad hornets they are sending me a new grille insert, I just had to pay shipping $15. I will definitely be using glue on the back side or using screws to hold the letters in place so this won’t happen again.

I also have no affiliation with the guy, but can attest to the quality and great customer service from @FreshMexicanTaco. I have one of the first production grilles but the thought has crossed my mind to buy one of his second production grilles becuase of the improvements he has made.

Also he inspects each grille before he ships it out to you to make sure nothing is wrong and it’s well packaged to survive the bumps and bruises during shipping

 

^This . I ordered mine from this guy and will say for the money the grille was impeccable . Have to say also the packing was excellent , just not thrown in a box and shipped .

 

I ordered mine in Amazon. Not a bad product it went well, looks good. But I wish i would have shelled a bit more and supported a TW Member and bought theirs. There is a thread they made where they sell the grills. Local pick up in CA or they ship.

 

Has anyone bought a grille from FreshMexicanTaco with black lettering instead of gray? I would love to see a pic of one installed on a tacoma before I order one. Also, does this replace the chrome part around the current trd off road grilles or is that something that needs to be ordered also?

 

Can't comment on the coloring as I bought mine in the stock silver/gray color. As for the second part of your question, yes, it replaces the chrome/black surround around the center grill portion as well, no need to order any other parts to fill any gaps/spaces. The pro grill will fill the entirety of the grill area up to the color matched bumper surround containing the grill.
