HP Tuners for 2005-2015

There are PIDs that show up in the scan tool that show up for O2 temp. Not sure if those are calculated from one of those tables or if the data comes from the sensors themselves.

 

Dollars to donuts that if you were able to watch those values on the scan tool, they'd correlate with the values in the component temp table. There isn't a thermocouple or anything actively measuring temperatures in the exhaust so I bet those tables are what is being reported by that PID.

Hell we can log them in HPT.. Standby.. I've got some data on this..

Ok.. Not perfect world example as this was a log taken during a 7 min drive I took testing out some N/A tuning. For some background, the component protection circuit of this ECU offsets the base temperature maps with adder and "subtractor" maps that modify the temperature used in the Compoenet predicted temp. maps. These offsets are for timing retard (which adds temperature) and vehicle speed (which reduces temperature) for obvious reasons. So these temperatures adder and subtractor maps are enabled and in play in this particular log, so they're not going to perfectly align. Also there is some noise in this since I was driving and the dynamic nature of things will sometimes throw things off a little, but try your best to filter that out..

A test could be done to zero out the adder and subtractor tables, to reduce external variables but I think this pretty well makes the point that the PID is reporting the values in this table after applying the different adders and subtracors.





*NOTE* there are other temp maps, so this may not be the B1S1 cat temp map that was logged above. Component 0 & 2 map shown for reference.

 

I can do team viewer, but if you'd like to email the logs I can make some suggestions. I'll be largely available today since the machine shops in the area are closed and I can't get rolling with the cam gears with it being Easter weekend

 

Well I have a similar issue to someone else in this thread in that it states I need 6 credits to write data. How have others handled this situation? Already put a ticket in to @HPTuners

 

Did you by chance read the truck initially with the Full-Version of the VCM Editor?

 

The beta version wouldn't read it all for me. What would you suggest? Uninstall/reinstall?

 

Odd.. I'm not able to really get into the details on this aspect of the software, as it's a little outside of my wheelhouse, but @HPTuners would be the one to do so.

The commonality here, is that you are being prompted for 6 credits, as was someone else here who used the Full Version to read the truck. Have you paid for the additional credits? I'd hold off if you haven't as the Toyota applications only require 4.

I just did the write to my truck and needed four creds.

First time on trd tune from ovtune. First impression is afr's are ridiculously rich and truck doesn't feel as smooth. Gonna add Roush tensioner and 2.3 pulley and redo FPR mod in next couple of weeks and then get properly tuned. Can't wait for better throttle response especially and better mpg!

 

What are your mods now? You don't have to wait until you upgrade pulleys to get a better baseline. Headers? FPR Mod?
