    Maybe 1 mpg at most.

I took mine off and havent noticed any real difference. That said I dont exactly keep a spreadsheet in my home lab like some guys on here.

The boost to aesthetics alone is worth whatever hit to MPG.

Toyota lists the MPG the same for models with and without it so I doubt you will lose anything.

Took mine off soon as I got it, looks so much better without it. Not even worth worrying about the change in MPG if there is any.

Haven't noticed any difference. I rarely drive over 100 Km per hour though.

Toyota put it there for a reason... just not sure what the specific rational was. Since it cost $$, and the manufacturer is not going to give it away for free... assume it’s to reduce parasitic drag, if only fractional.

You’ll just pick up more noise when the wind goes whistling thru the frame

I thought they adjusted the off-road to 18/21 after 2016. All the rest at 18/22 that come with the chin spoiler. Not positive but I thought they were different.

No. If it does reduce your mpg, its gonna be very small or not noticeable. Also, some people have noticed more whistling noises after removing the chin strap. I keep mine on because if there are objects on the road that I drive over, the chin strap acts like the first barrier to protect the skid plate and axles and such.

I put 10k miles on my OR before the chin strap. Best mileage I ever achieved was 21.5 outside of Moab on 70 east.
When I got back east to Georgia I never was over 18. No matter how I drove. As a experiment mainly, picked up a chin strap. I’ve noticed a 1 to 2.5 mileage increase depending what kinda driving I’m doing.
Do your own experiment, pull off the strap and see what happens. It’s on and off fairly easy.

That air dam under the front DOES improve mileage slightly. I'm leaving mine, till bad terrain rips it off. Then I'm not replacing it. easy peasy

I don’t even really notice it that much tbh, mostly commuting driving so I’ll keep it on even for a modest improvement in mileage.

So, according to the people that built it, it doesn't do a damn thing.
