Sold the truck. Flashed it back to stock.
Anyone want my ovtune? Id take 300 for it with the cable. There is a small fee from OV to register it over to your vin I think.

Got the Shiftsense Pro installed and initial impression are very good. I've been able to try all three built in shift maps and really liking Map 3, the most aggressive. I'm on 1.05 Performance 87 and have been using ECT on all the time but with SSP Map 3, I don't need ECT on. Not sure why but with ECT off the tip in feels less aggressive but SSP keeps it shifting up in the power band better than ECT so doesn't feel like it's lugging anymore. Getting it rolling without lurching is a lot easier in stop and go traffic and acceleration is smoother without frustrating premature up-shifts. The tune plus SSP is an awesome combination.

I also use the SSP and like it . One thing to look out for is the SSP can shut off if you are monitoring to many pid's with fusion . I do not know if some pids use more polling band width than others but it all seems to work together while monitoring less than 13 items.

Thanks for the tip. I have been using Fusion but have it off now, only wanting to introduce one variable at a time. But already have a splitter so now that I know SSP is working fine I'll plug my scanner back in.

Or just save your money and shift it like a manual in S mode (which is what the SSP does) so it's always shifting up or down exactly when you want it to. I drive mine this way and it just takes a little getting used but once you are you'll probably be alot happier with the truck and it might be funner to drive as well for you till v2.0 comes out with the new shifting logic.

I agree. I’ve driven mine that way since practically got it and I almost prefer it that way. With or without a tune. Nothing has seemed to shift right for me. Either it shifts too soon or doesn’t shift and lug along. ECT shift points are close. I’d love a Performance tune with ECT shift points for regular or ECT on. Should’ve gotten a MT. This is the first truck I’ve owned that wasn’t.

It is not the the same as S mode. S mode (Not a Gear lock mode ) does not hold the gear until you shift it. It will shift faster on its own, the SSP holds all the gears to a certain RPM range that gets and keeps you in the power band longer! You have to experience it to get the full affect.

You can literally do the same thing the SSP does with your right hand in S mode, gearlock tune or not which I actually prefer the performance tune with ect off so it'll upshift when at a lower rpm when driving in slowly accelerating traffic.

Ya, if you want to shift manually all the time AND tranny doesn't shift before you want to.

SSP works wonders for keeping the engine out of the sub 2000rpm range where all it does is bog.

Do you mean upshifting to early? Because if selecting each one by starting in 1st then selecting 2nd gear if you wait till you're at your desired rpm for an upshift you'll be able to keep the truck in whatever rpm range you want by selecting the right gear for the situation which can make the truck pretty fun to drive. Also if you want the SSP because you don't feel like having to deal with bumping a knob forward or backwards okay I get it not everyone likes to have to deal with it which is the whole point of buying an auto to begin with just doesn't seem worth the money if you already have the tune since Mat will have the shift logic reworked by the end of the year which is what frustrates quite a few of you on here, and yes I have used the SSP myself before I got the tune back in July of 17 so I know exactly how it functions before someone else brings it up again.

Just a curiosity question for you Tech Streamers. I've read that many of you are clearing engine learned values (and yes I understand that Matt is adding this to the update). My question is... are you guys clearing the transmission learned values as well or just the engine? Would there be any benefit to clearing the transmission values or would it just make the truck drive like hell again, at least until the learn procedure is completed. TIA

Worth the money to me to not have to bump shifter up and down like a manual all the time to make it shift right. Bought the tune back in June 77 hoping shifting would be this good. Mat has improved it incrementally but maybe his new release will be as good as the SSP is now. Until then, I'm enjoying an auto trans that shifts like it should.

I've cleared both whenever flashed with no issues. Just did it to clear learned values from previous tunes and it never drove like "hell".

I just installed 1.05 (87 Base) for the first time and everything is working quite well - shifting is smooth and idle is the same. I don't have Techstream installed so did not do a reset. I know it will learn over time, but just takes a little longer to incorporate the new tune parameters on top of the learned behavior. As such, I probably won't reset learning. However, if I encounter a situation where anything is rough or less than optimal, I'd follow the protocol of fully warming up the engine, reset learned, 10 minutes of idle while warm, then ease into it as the engine learns/stores parameters.

Do you have a SSP or are you assuming its the same as S mode? Anyone that has an SSP will probably say the same thing there is a noticeable difference between them. Cant wait for tunes that address larger tires , gears , armor, lifts and speedo calibration!
