ah...gotcha. ya, holding it down continuously doesn't sound like the best solution

 

I keep popping the "IG1 No.2" fuse. My switch functions just fine when using alligator test leads to attach everything, but as soon as I connect my actual wires to the switch: the fuse goes. I've tried a different switch and checked over all my connections. Anyone else have this problem?

(07 SR5, V6, 6MT, no nothing other than ABS)

I desire the real estate taken up by the abs pump under the hood, and might be more keen to tackle this if someone else has broken trail.

Haven't had my ABS functional since I bought the truck, and don't ever want it to be. Don't like how it(abs) only functions when you mash the pedal through the firewall.. -in slippery conditions-

 

Personally I think this is dumb and reckless but since you asked. You just need lengths of hard brake line and bypass the pump.
Since you say your ABS hasn't been working nothing will change other than freeing up the space you want

 

so I just did this mod and apparently it seems to work when I crank the truck up the ABS light is on when the switch is engaged. The only problem I see with it which is no big deal I can definitely get over is I have to turn the truck back on and off once the switch is back off to make my ABS light turn off? Is that normal?

Oh lord.....then im so lost i have tried 2 different ways and im over it. I have no clue what to try next. I figured when I crank it up with a switch off no light when I flip the switch to on ABS light comes on, the only problem seems to be that I cannot switch it off I have to turn the truck off flip the switch off when I re crank it it's back to normal?

If done correctly you will not blow any fuses or melt any wires. I don't mind this part, but the ABS light will come on on the dash when you open the circuit with the switch (off), it's like a reminder that I flipped the switch. It will stay on til you turn your truck off but next time you start your truck with the switch closed the ABS light will be off.

Here is the switch and location. I had to cut a notch in the threads so that I could flip the switch over since off is on(ABS disabled) and on is off(ABS enabled. Or you can think ofit this way off-ABS off and on-ABS on

From the first post this is written and seems to match exactly what I did and my results

 

I used a 2 pin rocker style safety switch so I couldn't accidentally hit or none of the kids in the woods could while I'm hunting so his thing has a 3-pin switch I didn't do it that way cuz I don't have a light on it it's one of those flip up safety style toggle switches no lights just like the OP had

 

And please don't take any of this as me being an asshole or any type of wrong way it literally is just me not knowing. That's why I posted the other parts that he had said I didn't know if I could have done it wrong

 

I have also heard of people using the front left wheel speed sensor to trip the abs light. Basically cut one of the wires (there are 2) and extend into cab and put a switch. This will trick the abs into thinking a wheel speed sensor is bad. Plus, now I'm not sure, I believe you don't have to cycle the ignition to re-enable the abs. Again, I'm not entirely sure about the cycling of the ignition. Just a thought!

LOOKING FOR SOME HELP!!

Is there a way to wire in a switch that quickly disconnects the VSC (traction control) in the Tacoma?
I find that it takes too long to stop and press the VCS button for 3-5 secs to turn the traction control off. I've found myself in hairy situations multiple times where I need the traction control off immediately and there is no time to stop and do it the standard way. There has to be a way around it!!

I have a 2010 TRD OR (w/ ATRAC, Rear Locker, etc.) manual trans.

I have been searching and searching but no threads to be found. Maybe I'm not using the proper key words but any help or direction would be great!!
