So, can't afford new wheels and decided to try out the gunmetal plastidip. Couldn't find any pictures of this combo so here's how it turned out. No idea how it'll hold up as I do get off road, but love how it turned out!

That really changed the look of the wheels. It makes them look like some type of rugged military grade wheels. I like it.

Looks great! How much work was involved and how many coats? Please keep us posted on durability.

Don't know how much time it took, but it wasn't time wasted. Def looks better than stock. Sport and OR wheels are really lackluster. Anything that helps..

Agreed! Took the better half a day but a lot of that is waiting on it to dry between coats.

Did you do it with the wheels on the truck? What was your prep like?

Plastidipped the SR5 wheels a couple months ago. 4 cans of back and 2 of clear. Idk how many coats but it was a lot. Turned out amazing for what i expected. With a 1 year old and a tight budget wheels were not an option.

Wheels off and even popped the chrome emblems off the centercaps. Other than that just a good cleaning and some tape for overspray.

Those look good. I wish they hadn't done the machined face on the offroad wheels.

I did the Anthracite plastidip a few years back. Longevity is all in the prep work. I got a few marks from getting new tires Put on but it’s still rock solid.

No need to take the wheels off, look up dipyourcar on YouTube. You don’t even need to tape the wheels off and it comes off super easy. Best tip with plastidip, if you want to get it off use WD40 and it melts like butter...
