So, truth I'm doing it. I really really liked it. If I had a choice to buy a package with it I would have, but the rear locker and black fenders/parts of the off-road made me buy and offroad over sport.

The hood for $430 shipped, CAPA certified aftermarket. Toyota hood scoop parts were $200. I found a shop to paint it and help me hang it for $300. I feel kind of stupid but I'm going to have the truck for a long long time so I did it. I'll keep y'all posted. Maybe I recoupe a few hundred from the stock hood.

Actually the sr5 has all of that, even entune premium. Front Valence stays black and rear bumper stays chrome though

However it doesn't have the premium technology package or a sunroof.

Good for you man. Your truck, your money. Do as YOU please.
I was very stubborn with my dealership and was able to get a Sport hood added to my truck free of charge. Threatened to walk without the scoop and, voila! They were suddenly able to add it

SR5s definitely do not have 17 inch alloys.

I never argued they had 17 inch alloys. You said nicer wheels, which SR5s do have other than steelies.

You can get 17 inch wheels with TSS sr5 however most people easily put either of the multiple black SR5 wheels above either TRD wheels. It's all subtive however

-$250 (me getting paid) would probably do it. The moment I found out they were non-functional, all interest in one went away and now they just look dumb on 2nd gens. They actually look good on 3rd gens though so I'd consider a straight across swap if I had a 3rd gen with a normal hood.

I’d pay tree-fitty for a scooped hood if it had a camera in the scoop so I could see past it. I already struggle with seeing over the giant 3G schnozz. Can’t imagine making it worse.

    $0.

It’s not a Subaru. Truck also doesn’t have a turbo with top mounted IC, so there’s that.

To hate on something you don't have is just trying to make yourself feel better.
Personally I have had both over the years.
I think both has it's ups and downs.
The scoop is astetically pleasing although it serves no function. Yes it does require additional cleaning around to vent area. But it's not that bad.
I haven't met a TRD Pro owner yet who wanted to trade his hood with a scoop for a non scooped hood.
The 2nd gen scooped hood caused some issues when driving. If the sun was at the perfect angle it would cause a glare to the driver.
I specifically requested the sport model because I wanted the scoop. I had to get the fully loaded sport because I wanted the Sun roof.
If I could have gotten an SR5 with the scoop and the sun roof? I would have jumped on that in a second! I don't care for the JBL stereo or the leather interior.
But it all comes down to personal preference!

I've learned years ago that if you want something buy it! Don't settle! You won't be happy! Life is too short to have regrets!

If you want a hood scoop? Then just man up and pay what it cost to get one! Wishing it was cheaper isn't going to make it happen. (Sorry not trying to be an ass just stating fact)

At the end of the day it's your truck!
Make it how you want it!
Who gives a F$%$! What other people think!
Do what will make you happy! (Unless we're talking about the WIFE?) Then you have to consider if it's worth it? LOL!

    Good luck!
Drive it like you stole it! And have no regrets!

    ALOHA!

Lmao at everyone saying they prefer a smooth hood, and if they had a scoop they’d get rid of it. The market for a color matched scooped hood is huge.

I would pay $200 for one, to answer the OP. Thats for my 2nd gen obviously.
