I wonder what the ven diagram of this thread between "makes fun of milennials" and "drives an auto because pushing down a clutch pedal is just way too hard, guys..." looks like.

Probably wouldn't resemble a Venn diagram at all, just two circles miles apart

For that kind of money you'd think most would just buy somewhere else and drive it home. You can fly most anywhere in the cont. US for a few hundred. $3K extra is crazy.

Sounds like I need to start bringing truckloads of MT to CA and reselling...

If the price was right, I'd sell mine right now and deliver it lol

I traded my 18 DCLB OR AT for an 18 DCSB OR MT. Only took about a 2k loss, but it was one of the last 18s on the lot so they gave me a pretty good deal. Best decision I ever made, and I didn't even dislike the auto :anonymous: but I sure love the MT.

I don't know what everyone is talking about, this truck is awesome in traffic, as long as you don't drive like an ass riding someone's bumper. I just stick it in first or second and cruise along, rarely ever having to touch the brake let alone the clutch. Honestly, it's easier then the gas, brake, gas, brake, gas of an auto in traffic.

If you want the MT, go for it. Especially if the money loss is negligible. Getting used to mine since I got it last July makes it feel more like MY truck. Meaning no one else truly knows how to drive it right except me. I enjoy it more every time. A coworker gives me crap for getting MT because of resale value or something, but that doesn’t matter to me.

It’s not as bad in traffic as you might think. Especially considering how low the first gear is.

You aren't paying 3K EXTRA.....you can just get an EXTRA 3K discount on MSRP on an auto......no markups.

I paid 37K for DCSB OR 4x4 M\T with Premium, tech and a bunch of other goodies....TRD skidplate, wethertech, predator, etc etc....could have bought the same truck in Auto for 34K.

Good deal vs Smokin' deal basically.....just.....can't...…...do.....A\T in these trucks.....M\T still slow AF lol

I've always driven manual but went with the automatic and dont think I will ever look back. I'm 33 now and enjoy comfort more than the advantages of a manual. Which there really arnt many as I mostly use the truck to commute to and from work and road trips. Well, it's my wife's daily ATM because the motor in her car just blew and my corolla is a stick which she can't drive.

I'll admit I'm completely biased. I actually did the same thing in my auto by going to S1 I'm just a slow lazy driver. It's really not a chore in traffic like some would have you believe though. It's like sex in the shower, there are better places, but who's complaining?

I have owned manual transmission trucks in the past. Fun to drive in the open road but can't relate it to sex, sorry. I understand the auto isn't for everyone. Hell, if I lived in cantonment florida still I might have one. I moved to Jacksonville. I want you to go near a golfcourse during a big tournament in your fun to drive manual. Let us know how it works out

I was in a somewhat similar situation. I bought my 2018 Colorado ZR2 diesel in August of 2018, lovely truck BTW, but got a bug up my ass making me crave a manual transmission again. I wanted a truck still and the TRD OR and Pros w/ a manual were the direction I was looking in. I knew I would be taking a financial hit, but I didn't care, I had to have the manual. Found a used '18 Pro about 150 miles away from me, in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire (there were only 7 used manuals available for sale in the entire country at the time in March). Made sure they still had the truck, drove up and convinced them to give me a "good" trade in (ZR2s are dropping like rocks thanks to Chevy giving so many incentives on them now), and made the deal. Took a bit of a leap of faith driving that far without a deal on the table, but I am glad I did.

In other words, go for it! I am extremely happy with my switch, you will be too.

I won't argue that. There are times when a manual sucks, like in Seattle where there are a bunch of crazy steep hills with a stop sign at the top. Rush hour traffic just isn't one of the times. I like letting the engine slow me down. The auto can act the same way in S1- though.. keep your truck OP, the manual is fun, but you'll loose MTS, Crawl Control, push button start, keyless entry, the ability to ride someone's ass in traffic, and to back up a hill, and you'll have a big dumb looking key.

I'm glad I made the switch, but there isn't an argument for the MT, you gotta love it enough to outweigh the cons of having one. The only thing I really miss from my auto is having my puddle lights come on when I walked close.
