@ChickoSM1808 Care to edit your post quoting the two files? Mat has requested long ago that files are not shared on the forums. Especially test files.

 

Can someone explain the "shutter fix..."? I know my truck runs weird but can't point it out. Hopefully I'm experiencing the same problem.

 

Do you feel some jerkiness(bumpy ride) while dragging the truck on incline? Low RPMs with high engine load and tranny wont downshift.
If you drove manual tranny it is kinda the same feeling if you stuck in wrong gear and need a downshift.

 

When traveling slightly uphill while holding throttle sometimes at 30-40mph on avg the truck feels like it’s starving for gas so it drops low in the rpm range and will hold that gear (usually 4th). This engine is basically sipping fuel like a queen sipping tea, so in turn the engine stutters. The gearing is high for these trucks as well.

Look at the 3.9’s and think 45mph instead of 60



Hence 4.88’s

 

You’re telling me that’s not normal and that’s going to be fixed in the next update? Sweet. I feel this going 60-70 uphill as well.

 

Cannot speak for IF it will be solved. It is one of many things OVtune is looking into

I flashed to 91 base running 93 octane since Sam’s/Costco doesn’t have 91 octane.
Ran this for 380 miles. Via my butt dyno the shifting on 91 base is not as smooth as 87 base, at least on my Taco.
So I’m flashing back to 87 base and will run 87 octane as before. I know these vehicles are weird...owners too, with all the different tunes and their experiences....my weirdness is best at 87 Base/87 gas even with the mods.

Yes, I bought the tune on July 2018... at July 29 2018 I got the Reg Key and a useless tune at Aug 18 2018 & no other tune before it....

At the date this is OVTune response & I still waiting ....

Yes as posted we are working on trying to figure out what the problems are. Your ECU version is unique and only 3 trucks out of all of them we have ever seen has it. And 04B24 there has only been 1 truck ever.

99% of the waiting time was because of the transmission programming that we were unable to get around because we have no possible way to test anything because the ECU version is extremely rare.

The file we sent you wasn't useless it was to confirm it would even program and the transmission would still shift. After that, putting our TCU tune into it the truck would again not shift. It has taken us months to figure out why.

 

If You need to try something I am willing to help and move forward, I work in tankers electronic maintenance and of course I understand that this is not like programming a smartphone, but I could send information like the logs with techstream that I sent you last time or any feedback that will help complete the job

 

It's exactly what I need but you were unavailable for a few months. Now that you've returned it can be finished

 

I don't know all the variations of Toyota TSB updates, but just wonder if there is a Toyota TSB you could apply that would get your truck to a common ECU version that Mat has a tune for.

 

Only tsb is to 04B24 which would make this problem even worse
