hmm... I was afraid that might be the case. Space is at a premium in the 1st gen engine compartment. Not all of us have the room in that location.

Yup, that ACR is taking up the needed space. Not sure how easily it can be relocated. Earlier, I did try using the through hole right near your ACR, with a plusnut installed into it. It worked well as a mount, but it put the strut too low, causing other interferences.

You could probably come up with another mounting scheme, but it is a big effort prototyping all these variations, so I try to avoid getting involved with specific cases (although I've resolved some very interesting challenges here and there along the way)..

Not just today, and still not done, but here’s some long overdue build progress. Crawler with triple sticks.

I just did too the other day, the rear was leaning with a full tank and adding a couple more threads up front to that side helped

Re-did the swingout latch this afternoon. Much happier with the setup and I was able to mover the swingarm closer to the tailgate. Also added a pin to hopefully ensure the swingarm doesn't go flying open if the latch fails for some reason. Next is to cut off the tire mount and move that closer as well.

Any one know the torque specs for the steering rack mount nut (driver side) and the lower bolt on the u-shaped bushing strap (pass side)?

I dig it. I spliced into the turns. Should i just cut them and wire them straight? The bulb is tucked into the wheel well. The tire wont touch. But its exposed. I had done the mod that most of us do but it was leaking like crazy and i broke one the other night. Dont wanna hack these up

Another newbie question I had my shock mounts welded on and it seems like i can get 2 more inches of down travel and up travel, will changing rod ends fix this or should I have the mounts re welded?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
If you're hitting your collapsed length before being fully bumped and hitting your extended length before you're out of shock then a shorter rod end would help. Rod ends only change where the travel happens not the total number of travel the suspension is capable of

Finally swapped out one of my front calipers and bled the brakes. Not sure how the dealer felt comfortable selling a truck with a caliper holding its brake pad pins by the skin of its teeth, but I drove it like that for about 2,000 mi. Pretty glad it's got a solid caliper on there now though.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    Installed an LED bar.

And added some rear lights (combo Amber/white - solid/strobe) that can act as additional back lights or chase lights. Installed them in the back of eack side box.

I forgot to look but dont think I fully compressed the leaf but I and shock but i know that i did fully extend it. Looks like i might have to cut the lower shock mounts off and weld them higher. 20190330_164741.jpg

Not today but last weekend the GF worked on sunday which left me with nothing to do. My AC compressor started making horrid sounds a few months back. Thinking the Compressor was done for I took its belt and started saving to get a replacement which would set me back at least 500.
350 for new compressor and around 150 to vaccum the lines and put new freon on it.

A month before the compressor took a shit I paid a mechanic to check the freon and put some in which only cost me around 30, the AC was Ice cold so I wasn't happy when it took a shit.

Fast forward last sunday I decided to take it apart only 4 bolts and the belt was already off. Took me 15 minutes. I bought a locking chain plier which I didn't really use all I used was a good old impact drill, an auto part store employee told me this trick.

Took the bolt that hold the clutch in and noticed the bearing and the snap ring were totally destroyed. Got a new bearing for 20 and with the locking chain pliers and snap ring I spend less than 50. I took my Truck when I went fishing Friday and yesterday I couldn't be happier about having an Ice cold AC to cool off.

I didnt lift the whole rear end to see if the shocks fully extend but with one side flexed and fully extended I would think both sides would be the same

Working on the tire carrier today to get the tire closer to the swingout. before anything tho, I welded a piece of tube to the wheel plate so I can hang the wheel in place and not have to struggle with holding the wheel and trying to get a bolt in to mount it. Have an end cap for it in the mail.

Then I cut that shit off.

Will remount it here in a bit. Looks like the 2" or so that was cut off is just the right amount to do what I'm wanting.
