Are you 3 ft tall? I can see the hood in front of it while driving... By that logic the whole front end reduces visibility.

Also never had any issue with glare. :notsure:

Wouldn't have bought my truck without one. A hood without a scoop is like an ice cream cone without ice cream.

It’s a good start, but they should offer an air box that is fitted to that hood. The open filter element is going to be sucking in hot engine air along with the cold.

Take a look at the early 2000’s mustang mach 1’s. It’s a decent amount of work to get it done right. The muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s had it easy with a carburetor right under that scoop.

If you are going for that idea, a ram air kit in the fender would be much cheaper with the same outcome, but i’m not going to lie, that is really cool!!! I wish they had finished up the idea and created a box

Well, said. For the guys who say the scoop looks bad, I think they're in denial and they wish the had one deep down.

Probably something out there, but you could run a piece from the hood into a flex tube that routes down to the air box.

Actually the more I think about it, just have a two mating pieces, one on the hood at the exit of the air path and then another on top of the air box, so that when the hood shuts its sealed together.

That still won’t work. Maybe SOME air will flow but far from a “ram” effect they claim due to the tall boxy front section.

Why do you think URD’s true CAI pulls from behind the grill?

In that position on these trucks, the scoop really can’t scoop up much airflow at all.

A better use in hot climate and stop and go traffic is actually to open it up to let hot engine bay air escape. So reverse functional haha.

In the end I couldn’t care less so don’t be butthurt. OP asked for opinions and mine is I’d pay zero...

If that hood sits like it should, it would actually be decently easy to just cut the box and put a seal on it The problem is the air is supposed to feed in from the bottom, correct? If that is the case, you would need an aftermarket tube and an open filter element in that box to keep crap from getting in the engine. Do-able, but it would take some putting together. If you do it, let me know. It would be a pretty cool project if you have the extra cash

Take a look at the Dinan intake for the E46 M3. You would have to cut the crap out of that box, but seals would clean it up.

Sadly I am a poor man as well. One day, we will all be rich ;)

To each their own, not trying to invalidate your opinion. Just wondering how you can't see over the scoop?

Something on the hood is ALWAYS distracting at first. Then you just get used to it. My WRX threw me off for a bit.

As far as being an issue in every day driving, it really isn’t, you just have to get used to it. I have personally never noticed the glare that people talk about but that may just be me. For off-roading, I can totally see it being an issue when looking at the passenger side corners, but for what 99% of the public uses this truck for (daily, light trails), it’s not a huge deal. Probably why the pro got it

Had one. Traded it for a non scoop and $500. I like the look better without it and can see better off roading.
