I ain’t no experienced whiskey drinker like y’all folks but I am prone to get a pull off the bottle at times. Just crawled off the mower and got a little of this crown out of the shop freezer.

I'd say whatever is agreed upon by committee. I just threw that together as an example with no thought to location. I'd say the locations and design are up to the group if that is the direction that is taken.

Here are tonight's options. Dad is supplying the Dickel 9 Year barrel select and the Buffalo Trace, I brought the rest.

We'll be getting in to the Dalmore Cigar Malt a little later. Picked up some stogies to test their claim that the scotch holds up well to a good stick. ;)

Good Lord... This stuff is excellent. It is a speyside, but presents itself almost like it is lightly peated. It is cask strength, so it packs some heat, but it is still approachable. Lots of earthy notes, a sense of fresh hay. The finish is like banana nut bread. I'm thoroughly impressed.

The entire Nadurra line is excellent!

I've never tried the cigar malt. What are your thoughts?

    Them briskets, too.....

    I like your style.

I want a bigger yard at our next house so that I can use a riding mower. Cigar, whiskey, and some Tom Petty and I could mow all day long.

Give it a go. This one was $72 + tax, which is pretty good for a cask strength scotch.

I read in to a bit more and the finishing cask is one that previously aged a peated scotch, so that is where that light peat influence comes from.

I'm really glad to hear you say that about the Nadurra line. I liked this one and was wondering if I got the 'good' batch or if I should look in to getting other batches.

The Cigar Malt Reserve is nice, but not one of my favorites. It certainly delivers as a whisky designed to hold up to a cigar. It is quite viscous and really coats the mouth. The tasting notes were like dark plum or even the juice from a jar of Luxardo cherries. A bit of dark chocolate, too (though NOTHING like the dark chocolate notes in Glenmorangie Signet). I'll enjoy the rest of this bottle, but don't see my buying another.

It's tough to beat the availability and cost of the Nadurra line when it comes to cask strength Scotch whiskies. The Oloroso Nadurra is very similar to Aberlour A'bunadh, but at a friendlier price point and more widely available where I live. I also get less of the "sour sherry" that sometimes lingers on the finish of a lot of sherry cask whiskies. The bourbon cask used to come with a 16 year age statement (which went away in '17 I believe) yet the newer batches still deliver the same high-quality flavor and aroma profiles. The Peated Nadurra is not as common on shelves near me, but it's totally worth a pick-up for peat lovers.

Sounds like I should try the cigar malt at a cigar bar if I get the chance. I was always turned off by the price of that bottle to go all-in. I think I've only tried the Dalmore 12 once and it was very early on in my Scotch journey. I seem to remember it being very enjoyable as well.

Finally got to pour a glass. Phenomenal. I really liked this! It is a bit hot and took a couple sips to get acclimated. Definitely chocolate notes with a sugary finish. I'm not the most adept at discussing flavor profiles, but I really enjoyed this. Has that high proof smell that raises the hairs and leaves a little tingle afterwards. Not bad at all. Lived up to the hype I've read about. Gonna snag a couple bottles next time. It's earned some shelf space.

I toured their facility when I was out there a few years ago! I brought a bottle of the Port finished back with me, but it's impossible to find around here now that I've drank through it.

Didn't grab a picture, but picked up a bottle of Longbrach by Wild Turkey the other day. Had a glass last night during GoT and it was pretty good I thought. I'll have to have a few more to make sure, yanno, for science purposes.
