    Happy Easter everyone.

I looked around but I didn't find any definitive answers.

The chrome bumper on my truck is badly rusted . I'd like to replace it with something different but subtle . Looking for ease. No cutting or welding.

Oddly enough, I sort of like the older style I saw on a 1999. Will that fit?

Is there another model or generation bumper that's a direct fit? Just figured it was worth a shot .

Ideally I just want a subtle change and if it isn't chrome, that would be a huge plus.

Not looking for a monster off road bumper mod with tubes and a hitch/winch. Mine sees snow, the occasional dirt road and thats it . I don't need or want that Mad Max Road Warrior off road look. It's not me.

    Thanks everyone.

Would you know if it's a direct fit and of so, what years? It's something I've been curious about. The bumper needs replacement very soon. There's literally a hole in the driver's side from rot . Ugh . Rest of the truck is pretty decent.

Wow . Yeah that bumper gives the truck a heck of an underbite huh? The Family Guy screenshots are EXACTLY what went through my head .

I'll have to Google ARB I guess .

*Edit*. Nope. Not at all on the ARB Those things are way over the top. I don't need a post nuclear war zombie hunting look at me bumper.

Just subtle. Something different but not extreme. I think the OEM bumper comes in primer as well as chrome. I own a small body shop so I could always paint it to match but was hoping to do something different .

Yes it’s a direct fit and no it doesn’t stick out like that on the 02 taco like on the old tacoDE77901A-7AF8-402C-B8FF-CA18D0E9302E.jpg

On the old taco the bumper stuck out more because of the front end design fits just right for me and it bolted on with the original brackets

Nice photo. What year is the bumper from? If I can score one not in chrome, this may be my direction.

Thanks for the links! This is the way I'll go if I can't find something different. I have a vendor I use for aftermarket OEM looking pieces but those prices seem even better, assuming the quality is the same.

Bundle 99-02 4Runner Front Bumper Blk Face Bar Valance Signal Light W/Flare Hole https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014EUM6MQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_qmsVCbSFVB9AX

I bought mine in parts some from rock auto and some from Amazon. But here is the full black if you want but the chrome is a better deal on rock auto. And you don’t need to buy brackets your original brackets will work by just drilling two holes

Wow! I do believe this is the route I'm taking very very soon! Will the two necessary holes I need to drilldbe pretty obvious and will I need some bolts for those holes?

Thanks in advance! I really like this. Subtle and different. Just what I wanted .

It will be kind of obvious, but when you remove your brackets from your original bumper it has a total of 4 nuts two on each side you going to reuse all of this the only difference is that on the 4Runner bumper the mount points for the bracket to the bumper are about a 1/2” wider so you can line up the bracket with the top hole and mark where the bottom hole needs to be and Drill! It’s pretty easy if you need any help at all just let me know!
