Do you enjoy being obtuse and wrong? Because that is exactly why they are set up that way. Also, Corollas are not anything you should be judging anything else by.

Toyota talked about the reason they still use drum brakes on the trucks, something to do with off-roading and mud/sand, I don’t quite remember. I saw it on a YouTube video explaining crawl control when I first bought the truck.

The hazard button is mandatory so blind drivers can find it.
The ECT is too complicated for most drivers to understand so it is stealth. Plus once you install ShiftSense Pro it can be removed for the ejector seat mod.

My peeve is that when I pull into my carport with XM playing, it cuts out. Metal roof. But that's not the peeve, the problem is that then the volume knob does nothing, so I either have to back out and lower the volume, or get my eardrums perforated the next morning.

Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
    1) Incandescent yellow halogens in nice projector housings, why!?!
    2) Smart touch door handle entry...on the driver's side only, seriously!??!

And for the SR guys, I'm sure this one gets you even thought I don't have this problem...no key-less entry standard on base models, still have to walk up to your vehicle and put the key into the door to unlock like it's 1980...but wait, there's more, POWER DOOR-LOCKS, REVERSE CAMERA AND BLUETOOTH standard on the same vehicle! Only in 2019...that's not trimming cost, it's almost nothing to include and hook up an antenna than it is to run the camera wire from rear to front!

All of these features are penny items. Their inclusion or omission is more about marketing and tier levels than anything. As the truck moves towards higher tier trims, Toyota has to make perceptable changes to justify the price increase.

Anything that costs Toyota to delete, is left as part of the lower trims. Anything that can be added and subtracted for next to nothing, forms part of their tiered trim offerings.

Reverse camera is now a legal requirement on all vehicles, at least in Canada, so no way around that.

If you guys want to complain about control designs, just look at Honda’s automatic transmission “selector”

Ironically, I feel like I can never find it as quickly as I'd like. Should be bright red.

Yea must of been why the Yaris had them too, and a bunch of other vehicles. Don’t let them full you, it’s to save them a few bucks.
