    Am I doing this wrong?

This is the top secret “crap I started painting my mirror caps and now it’s raining and I forgot I had to take the dog to the vet” version of the mod.

Installed mine tonight. Taking the mirror caps off was easy; just start at the outside edge and pull forward and up while working your way from the outer edge to the inner. About 5 minutes each. These lights are amazing!

I did have to lube the plastic peg on the retaining bracket in order for the peg to snap into the receiving hole in the smoked material on the Meso signals.

agree with comments. The trash bag procedure is overkill, didn't even come close to dropping my cap. And the peg and hole, are very very snug. Wasn't happy with how it sat with the seal showing on first attempt, so had to take the turn back out. They are SNUG. Yikes. lol

No lie, I'm kind of worried that these MESOJDM signals might get stolen given how quick and easy this mod is...

The people that would steal them likely wouldn’t know it’s a sought after part IMO. Someone ripped apart my grille and stole my spare and left these untouched. If someone even lays a finger on my truck now my alarm goes off and I get an alert on my 2 way Compustar system.

Anyone else that landed these forever ago semi bummed that they have been well stocked lately? Lol I liked having the elusive v4’s, guess I need to get started on my LE’s. Congrats to everyone who grabbed them- they are badass and have honestly saved my a** from idiots on the highway many times.

20190420_123115.jpg Got them installed today. The peg was indeed very very snug but everything fit great and they look awesome!

    Painted my white caps.

Rustoleum Premium paint/primer. I used the same in my grill and it’s been doing well.

I used krylon fusion for my grill and fog light surrounds and it’s chipping like crazy. Could very well be old cans of paint that were on the stores shelves for years though.

    Cool stuff
I had to drill mine out a little, check your cap that it sits flush around the top of the smoked light housing ... mine was sitting higher before I drilled out that hole for the peg.

Let me know how the install goes on the SR5. I have an SR5 and opened my mirrors up to see what the install process would be like and this is what mine look like.

Very different than the TRD trim mirrors where there is an actual spot for the turn signals. Anyone else out there like me slumming it with an SR/SR5 address this hurdle already? I’m not opposed to using a dremel to carve out a space for it but if there is a better work around, I’m interested.

I’m thinking since my amber front turn signals are on all the time (SR5), and blink when I flip on the indicators, it would look sick to tap off that wire so the mirror signals are amber when the lights are on but blink when I flip on the indicators. Just something different.

So I received my Meso turns but I’m going to actually buy a set of trd trim signal mirrors non one off eBay I found a set for about 150 not too bad. Just need to order the mirrors. Then I’ll tackle the task.

Maybe you can find a cheap set of OEM mirror signals off one of the 500+ people that bought the Meso Ultimates and test fit it in the base. If it does fit, then you may need to carve out the area on the upper cover with a Dremel to fit it, or maybe a replacement cover. Then when all fits, buy the Meso one.

Nice, let me know how that goes and I’d be interested to know how the wiring goes for you. I’ve already ripped into lots of parts of the truck to run various wires so that doesn’t scare me. But if you have any advice as to which wires you tap, I’d love to hear it.

Whoops, that’s what I used too. I thought it was rustoleum.

It’s been holding up well on my grill and the mirrors so far. I think a lot of it has to do with the prep.

I ruffed everything up with scotchbrite pads and used adhesive promoter. I work in a quarry though so rock chips are a part of my everyday.

Anyone notice the passenger light didn't have the thin piece of rubber on it? Or just maybe it's the one I got. The driver side has it but my passenger side doesn't.
