I have narrowed tires down to All Terrain tires for my White TRD Sport and keeping on the factory rims with the factory mud flaps (no mods to the truck). At the most I may put on small spacers for a little lift.
I have narrowed it down to the Falken Wild P3, BFG A/T Destination A/T, Wrangler A/T or the Cooper Discoverer A/T3. I drive in snow often and off road hunting only. I want a good long lasting tire and to stay away from an LT rated tire with an E rating. I prefer the 70 size.
Which tire and what size on my new truck will not rub? I am confused with all of the previous posts and do not want to modify my truck or destroy the factory mud flaps. Feel free to post pictures of your Sport Tacoma with factory rims with the tire size. I need some help ...

I have a minor lift but I installed the 265/70/17 tires prior to the lift with no rubbing.

265/70r17 Cooper AT3's on the stock sport wheel. I have had them on for 14,000 miles, love the tire and absolutely no issues with stock mud flaps or the front air dam. I removed the air dam for looks, but it does not rub or cause any issues with this tire size.

I definitely like the look of the Falkens. How are they in the snow and rain? Did you have to take off the front chin strap for the 265/70/17 to fit? Any reduction the mpg with the chin strap off even if they did fit?

they are fine in the rain, no clue on snow yet still summer temps here. they are quiet and smooth on the highway. Going a size up and about 10lb heavier per tire I lost about 1mpg or so.
I took the front chin spoiler off before I got the tires, also no MPG change after taking it off with stock tires after few months of driving before adding the new tires. So no idea if the chin spoiler would get in way of the tires either

I put on the P265/70-17 KO 2's C rated. No rubbing. Factory mud flaps & air damn in tack. Clearance was only about an inch. I didn't need to do a lift, but I decided on the Ready Lift Level kit. 2.25 front with 2" Blocks rear. Like the stance and ride! A choice, but not needed with the P265/70-17's! 20160514_071040.jpg 20160514_071018.jpg

I would like to see a set of Stock 265/65R17 BFG All-Terrains on stock wheels vs. the 265/70R17. Anybody?

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
    here is mine with those:

    IMG_0244.jpg

And to all you naysayers -- I do have 1 1/2 blocks in the rear to compensate for the weight of the topper which caused a noticeable sag in the rear. Only prob is I still have the "Tacoma-lean"

265/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT2 in a SL rated tire. I run them on my dclb 4wd sport with a lift front and rear 5100s with a rear 1 inch block. Wanted BFGs but didn't want all the issues and maintaince of the tire. Every where I read or someone I talk to has balancing issues. I loved the stock Open Country stock tires on my sport but I too wanted an All terrain tire and with a 60k mile warranty and a 500 mile trial run I was happy and haven't looked back. Rainy weather they are awesome, quiet and on the beach they were amazing. I have heard people like them in the snow which around my parts its not an issue. They are super light, my gas mileage was not effected in any way and the calibration matched my GPS is more accurate than my 265/65 17 were. Plus it kind of gives that OEM tire look with the TOYO name, they own Nitto or Nitto owns them. Look into them, killer ass tire for the money!
