    Hey all,

Brand new to the community. Snagged a 2019 TRD Off-road on Friday and want to lift it and put some new wheels on it. I know almost nothing about working on cars, so apologies in advance if I have some dumb questions.

I really don’t plan or desire to do much off roading. At most I plan to drive on the beach. The lift/tires are purely for looks and my ego :D it’s a “drinking moonshine out a champagne glass” kinda thing for me personally.

What recommendations do you guys have? I don’t want to spend thousands on lifting it. The spacer kits seems like a good option for my scenario. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I’ve seen too many issues with spacer kits. To me, that’s a no no.

Check out the bilstein 5100s or the stronger 6112s.

You can adjust them (takes time compared to a Fox) but the ride is good, sometimes better than factory depending on which lift setting you go with.

You can get a level look just with those, but you’ll quickly realize how garbage the rear leaf springs are.. so if you want something that won’t sag within a year, and will help with ride comfort, hauling and towing, check out the Icon AAL or leaf springs too.

Question. Have 6112s on order for my 2018 SR5. Should I use my 1/4 HS Taco Lean Spacer or just do the Clip settings on 6 driver , 5 passenger. Was thinking about just using 6th clip setting both sides and using the spacer

I did this for about $850 in parts.

5100s front and back, front on 1st clip $350

OME 885 spring, but recommend 887s now, they seem to settle more than they used to. $180

Drivers side spacer for Taco lean $25

Wheelers 3 Leaf AAL with overload leaf left in. $180

ECGS bushing as a preventive measure, bushing and seals $95

Should give you about 2 inches front and back.

I've read they usually stagger the clip settings on the 6112s for lean but I guess if you want to spend the extra on a spacer you can for the same result.

Dobinson makes a quick lift kit that is pretty budget friendly. @Dobinsons Mike or @MainLineOverland are two resources to talk to about their products. I've seen nothing but good reviews about Dobinson products.

You could just put on 265/75/16 and call it a day

Yep, I ran a plus +1 size tires for about 18 months before I lifted. I also swapped to a 17 inch wheel as tire selection in 265/70/17 is a little better than 265/75/16.

Not the same result. Full 2 inches. Plus a half inch on the Driver Side. If you do 6 and 5 you get less lift. 2.5 nets you 2 on the driver's side because if taco Lean. Right side sets at 2.

Same result as in compensating for lean is what I meant.

It does. But if you go clip 5 and 6 you lose a half inch. It's even but at 1 1/2 and not 2

Spacers and blocks will do everything you want for a price you can’t beat. You don’t need to spend money on springs and shocks just to lift the truck for looks.

Not to sound elitist, but I will never recommend spacers. To me, it'd be like someone asking advice on how to bulk up at the gym and instead of providing a weight lifting regimen, I just suggested that you eat massive amounts of pizza and donuts because you would gain weight a lot faster/easier that way.

You probably don't need Kings or a Full on Icon setup but Bilsteins and leafs sure give you a better Ride. Both on and off road.

On a mostly street driven truck (as the OP said is his plan) there are no problems with durability or comfort with blocks and spacers.

They ride stiffer and wear out shocks faster.
