I've never tried the Open Country's, so couldn't comment. I've heard the good and bad on most tires. Really comes down to what you want the tires to do. The Falkens had performed beyond my expectations.

What was the reason if you don’t mind me asking for taking them off at 30,000?

Tired of looking at 4 brand new wheels, in boxes, in my garage.

I keep going back and forth on a tire decision. My truck came with SEMA wheels and Pro Comp Xtreme 265/70/17s, but now that I added a 3"-ish lift I am considering a bigger tire. I had no rubbing before and no rubbing with the lift. I'm just not sure if going up to a 275/70/17 is even worth it and I may be dealing with CNC and plastic trimming if I go to a 285. Anyone have any thoughts?

I think 265/70/17 looks small with a 3" lift. I would go with 275/70 or 255/80. Less of a chance of rubbing with 255/80 but it has a skinnier look from straight on.

I'm with you on the looks. It's borderline, but could be a little bigger. If I can move from an E class to a C then I might get some marginal returns on MPG. I've been at 14.9 average since day one with the Pro Comps. love the look of those tires, but they are heavy and fairly loud. I'm typically someone who has always averaged at the high end or above of typical ratings, so the MPG has been a bit of a shock/adjustment I have had to make, was really thinking I would get 18+

I can get the 275/70/17 BFG KO2 locally so I may just give it a go and sell these ones.

Looks at 255/75/17 if you're determined to stay with BFG, same height as the 275, comes in C load and alot lighter (10lbs per corner) than the E.

I'm not necessarily sold on the BFG's, but i'll research your suggestion for sure. I'm just not sure on how much skinnier I want to go on the tire size.

It's about 1/2 an inch in width from a 275/70 total but the sema wheels already push the tire out to the edge of the fender liner.

Here's mine with a 265 tire, imagineless that a quarter inch inboard.

You wont notice the width as much by looking as you would in the weight by driving and the hit in gas mileage.

If you're really worried you can add a wheel spacer for more poke but that will just coat your truck with more dirt on the sides.

Nice looking rig. What kind of mud flaps are those? Mine rub in the front on bumps so was going to yank them off.
