I did it during a windstorm out here too, not fun. Managed to not get any on the truck but probably breathed in too much of it.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Finally got to install my El Taco Diablo light bar brackets. They've been hanging above my shop bench for nearly 2 years.

Also got a light bar cover... to keep from giving poe-poe a reason for pulling me over. (yes, uncovered lightbars are technically illegal in CA)

There's potential for the twist in the springs to bind and not droop all the way like they would if hanging straight down.

Just realized we have the same Skidrow t-case skid, mines held up well for the last few years. It did take a really hard hit once that bent it up into the tcase and made all kinds of noise, had to get it pressed back into shape. But it was a really hard hit. Definitely did it's job in saving my tcase

Here's what I ment yesterday by white/amber-solid/strobe lights that I installed. These should make a good set of secondary backup lights or chase lights in the dust.

If you're prone to siezures... scroll fast

(I missed getting a clip of one of the amber settings)

As someone who did this wrong the first time, I decided it was worthwhile to write up all the steps to figure out the upper/lower mount positioning the right way.

Anyway, here's the right way (there's a section for "Positioning the Lower Shock Mounts", but you may need to read a few sections above that as well to understand how they are determined in relation to the uppers).

How-To: Toyota Tacoma Rear Shock Relocation - Determining Leaf Spring Cycle and Mount Positioning

And of course, my trials and tribulations getting there:

Rear Shock Relocation with 10" stroke ADS 2.5" Smooth Body w/Resi

Drop bracket lift and booger welds
Yes, they actually have been welded on twice already on my truck, and 3 times in their life total.

I only put half effort into the sliders since they get fucked easily. Basically wash the truck, spray the sliders with phospohric prep and etch to convert the surface rust, wash it off to stop the acidic process, mask and paint with VHT chassis black. Prep time in total is like an hour maybe.

I had the same issue. I took a hard hit and the skid was contacting the t-case. After I bent it back into place I beefed the fuck out of it.

I basically boxed the t-case in. And even with this, I need to take a sledge to the boxed in portion by the t-case because I have a bump right at the t-case spot.
