Got the rack finished out for the trailer this weekend, all I need to do now is move the RTT from the truck onto the trailer and see how it looks and functions. I really want to be able to use the annex, but I would have to mount the RTT more on one side of the rack which I don't really want to do for weight distribution... so will just have to mount the RTT in the middle of the rack and I guess not use the Annex.

Only thing left to do is replace the tires on the trailer this week and finish out a couple more smaller things on it.

could you open the tent to the backside of the trailer and use the ladder/annex on the back half of the trailer?

Only 4ft height from the deck to the top of the rack, so would be a very short annex if I did that so I don't think that would be very comfortable.

Yea, the trailer would be disconnected from the truck, but then the hitch would be inside the annex, which may actually work if the ladder would fit around the hitch somehow lol.

I only want the annex so I can change standing up.

yeah I was thinking you could probably somehow setup the ladder around/over the hitch somehow, or possibly even build a brace with "footholes" (for the ladder feet) that the ladder can sit on, on top of the trailer tongue, that would guarantee your ladder is always the same height/length and you basically just have to step up the height of the trailer tongue for your first step.

I know I always got annoyed if the ground wasn't just right for me to set the ladder up at the angle/height I wanted it at so that could eliminate that entirely..

    Yes sir!

Came from here, the owner is super helpful and the shipping on the kit was very quick. I ended up getting the 12 bracket kit so I would have some brackets left over if I ever wanted to add more or something later on and was cheaper to do that and shipping was the same.

I bought two 24' sticks of 1.5" (11ga) square tubing locally for $71 and just cut it down to the sizes I needed with a metal chop saw I already had.

Yep, it went together pretty well once I figure out the way I wanted it to work honestly.

Plus if I ever change trailers, I can just unbolt this cut it down to the next trailer size and fit it to that!

Anytime, hopefully will be able to keep working on this week and get a couple more things done to it.

Looking to add a removable vise to it as I never know when I need to be able have a good solid place to work on stuff at camp.

Good idea! I have a small piece of scrap metal that I was going to use and mount it to the side rail since it put it almost waist level. So shall see.

Just checked the price on that, not a bad price at all! Would just need to get the insert to bolt the vice too...

Which honestly... that gives me an idea on something else that that I may be able to make work for a hitch mounted basket...
