"The exhaust cam gears retard the exhaust gear timing by 3° in relation to crank angle. Allowing the cylinders to empty more completely on the exhaust stroke. On the intake stroke the cylinders will fill with more air and fuel increasing the overall volumetric efficiency of the engine. There will also be less hot exhaust gas left heating the incoming air and fuel and reducing it's knock potential. This is very advantageous with forced induction conversions."

I do believe the N/A applications would benefit, but probably not to the degree the S/C folks would.

Correct. Smaller percentage for N/A. Advantageous for both N/A and S/C applications. Not turbo.

Could you elaborate as to why these wouldnt be advantageous with a turbo setup? Just curious and looking to learn..

Basically exhaust gas reversion. Helping to induce knock by way of higher cylinder temperatures.

Can someone school me on credit purchases?

Getting the MPVI2 here in CA is a little bit of a harder thing to do... thanks CARB. Can i buy just the unit say from a person on ebay, then buy universal credits through say the deal below?

You can buy the unit new or used from any source and utilize it. The credits (its my recommendation to get them direct from HPT for immediate use) can be purchased from a 3rd party like the source you referenced, or The Tuning School, Etc. Getting them from HPT directly though is my preferred method, as it gives me immediate access to that purchase. And that's usually when I'm sitting in the vehicle I want to flash with the laptop.. :D

Could always have it shipped to me this week and I can bring it when I’m out next weekend. Just make sure it gets her by Thursday.

Are there any drawbacks to the cam gears with SC? I live in Canada so we occasionally get -40 deg weather

So if one was planning to run a s/c and a turbo together, would it be best to go back to stock cam gears? wondering how it'd work with both..
