Honestly as long as the fuel filter is changed regularly and you use good fuel I would be surprised if the 255 pump was unable to keep up with everything up until 450ish HP.

OK, I thought it would when I got it. But at that time this thread wasn't nearly to the point it is now with all the information and experience. This thread,a few towing threads, and some threads on 35's are all I ever even look at. I don't have time to wander into the wormholes. But honestly, just these few are plenty expensive enough.

Keep in mind unlike the stock pump an aftermarket performance level pump will meet or exceed it's GPM rating for it's lifespan. One of the problems with the stock pumps is that the combination of the internal tank filter clogging early and the pump being a generic design is that it doesn't actually pump it's rated volume after a few years in the tank.

OK, thank you. I am just getting tired of only seeing 3.something on my boost gauge. I need to pump those numbers up. But be safe and retain reliability.

Yeah but you live in am elevated area, so the boost loss is in accordance to unfortunately. The only way to pump that up is go smaller, but of course make sure the tranny VB gets upgraded if you are auto.

    You fry your tranny.

The shifting is too soft between shifts on the tranny and because you are running through too much power after 2.7" pulleys it will burn up your clutches very quickly.

This is very random, but if you are curious how frequently the SC pump runs, I installed a voltage data logger on my truck. Yesterday it ran 6 times at seemingly random intervals as shown by the dips in the voltage when the truck was not running (below 13v).

After I cooked my first trans towing and got a huge cooler and now monitor it, I did put in the TransGo kit in VB and have been very happy with it. But still wonder what the RatioTek would feel like. Really tempted to put the RatioTek in the old VB and swap them out. But also would like to send it to IPT or some other well known trans shop.

I do know that it does kick on a lot more often than I thought it did. I think it is every time the ecu runs a purge check on the charcoal canister. If I remember correctly.

They really screwed up on how the SC pump should run. That thing should be triggered to run ONLY when the engine is running. Hooking it up to the EVAP system and making it run in conjunction with is really stupid.

I would had liked to install the Transgo kit with mine but I don't tow like that and the only time I would make tranny temps rise is when I wheel which has been infrequently.. I really are no need for anything more than the ratiotek kit.

They have you tie this into the EVAP purge solenoid for triggering as part of the installation instructions?

Yes, that is the other one I was thinking of. Thank You. I would love to rebuild the old trans and see if I can get anymore strength out of it, but I want to do it myself to save some money. But I know nothing about automatic(fun sucker) transmissions.

Anyone interested in flow matched injectors for the Tacoma? We have a group buy going on with fuelinjectorclinic.com.

FIC has asked that I not publish these prices on a public page, so we have created a private conversation on TW where those interested can learn the details. About half of the original 25 interested have already placed an order. If anyone else in the thread is interested, please let me know so that I can add you to the conversation.

    The pricing is VERY attractive.

Check page 1 for the correct design and link.

I do not believe they offer sizes in 2.8, only as small as 2.7...

In the off event that they do, contact sales@smoothflowpulleys.com tell him you want a qwikchange kit for the TRD Supercharger 5 rib design and Nate will make you a pulley to the sizing of your desire. Mention my name and he'll know what all you are referring to.
