Picked up my first revolver today. Ruger speed six .357. Good shape, built like a tank. New grips in the future. Serial number puts it manufactured about 1985. They stopped making these ~1988

Finally got into this new to me Speed six over the weekend. Seems in real good shape. Either it was shot very little or it was cleaned and cared for. I sent the pawl plunger airborne in the garage during the trigger teardown. Its mia. :anonymous: New one otw. Its frikkin tiny. Ordered a new spring as well.

    Another Blackhawk.
    .357 MAXIMUM flavor.
    No not a miss-print.
Have not shot it for a good decade...no ammo and hard to reload.
A Max and Mag cartridge in pic.

This is an awesome thread! I'm newer to revolver, I'm more of an auto-loader guy, but being converted slowly. The wife has a Ruger LCR in .380. I got it for her due to the simplicity. I a few months ago I picked up an older S&W mountain gun, which is a machined down version of the 4 inch barreled N frame in .44 mag. The newer ones are .45 cal. I got it because I spend a lot of time in the wilderness and wanted something that can do more than tickle a bear. I take my shockwave with good 'ol 000 buck as well, but in case I set that down, etc., the .44 is on a chest holder that literally does not come off me. Pics later.

Long heavy barrel, not bad recoil. Really fun gun... smack/boom kind of thing... fast bullet.
Sold/traded a .44 mag because it hurt my wrist.

.308 is one of my favorite caliber...

My information may be incorrect, but I was under the impression that a .357 Max gun would eat .357 Mag & .38SPL just as easily?

(as an added bonus, they're easier on the hands and they probably won't chew on the forcing cone as hard, either)

    Yes it will.

    I have 2 other S&W .357 mags i shoot.

The MAX had a cutting effect to the top of the cylinder area... it is just more fun with the MAX ammo.

    Couple more.

    .357 mags

A nickle Mod. 19-4 is my all time favorite.
    A 28-2 .357 CTG. HIGHWAY PATROLMAN, a hefty gun.

Pretty sure my next gun is a K-frame in 357. Model 19's just look so damn good.

I love my model 19-3. A new-production 66 is in my future, I think. For full-snort pew pew without the guilt.

I have this one in my safe - got it from my father in law. It is a S&W Model 36 - a Chiefs Special - chambered in 38 S&W Special. Never shot it.
