Raptor lights for sale

SOLD. So apparently Virginia doesn’t like raptor lights that don’t have a DOT number, so I had to remove mine. I’m offering them up to someone complete with harness, add-a-fuse link, and 6 (six!) led lights. Everything works flawlessly. $40.

 

I'm curious to know what you mean by VA not liking lights that don't have a DOT number?

And I'm sure this will sell quickly.

 

I think they want a DOT approved number on the actual LED housing.

 

Check your local laws in detail. See if you are allowed to equip things for off road use only. If you are, then you could run these on the vehicle. Just dont get caught using it on road lol is it for state inspection or you got caught by police?

Stamp a DOT # on them. Just find the one on the Raptor.

 

That was a complete D move by the dealership.

 

I was there to get an alignment, 20k mi service and an inspection. Two and a half hours later, no alignment had been done. I left.

 

I have been happy with them until today.

 

Fuck that dealership then! So if you turn them off during state inspection then they can't fail you, assuming your state allows things to be on a vehicle that are for off road use. And then if the state trooper did not see them on when you were using the vehicle they can't issue a ticket of any kind. Again this is all assuming they prohibit the installation of them, even though they are not use. For instance in Texas, I have flood beam pattern pod lights that ate not street legal due to intensity and beam pattern. But as long as they are not being used while driving on roads I can not be issued any kind of citation and can not be denied a state inspection.

 

I can’t risk it...otherwise I go back to prison.

Sounds like someone doesn’t like you. I mean think about all those semi trucks with all those lights on them. Sometimes they are so bright that you can see them from space (Personally I’ve never been in space, I’m just guessing ).. Your three lights are nothing. Plus semi trucks get inspected all the time. As long as amber faces forward and red faces rear. Dot stamped on the lights or not.

 

I'd watch out for the dealership having a buddy as a state trooper. I'm sure you call 911, at a dealership, local authority and not state trooper would arrive, especially anything that has to do with a vehicle. Yet again, I may be ignorant and not understand it. But agreed, if might be able to kept on for off-road use and not during highway use. I've seen a few Tacos with the raptor lights on here in NoVA. I call BS, but back on track. Might be best to avoid any hassle.

I feel ya man. I'm a stickler with that shit though. I fight the system as much as I can! My local shop tried to tell me my window tint failed (which it did, it's under 20% in the front) but I wasnt going to remove it. So I removed my windows and told them I dont have windows. In the state if Texas it is not a legal requirement to have windows or doors. But when i took it back they still failed it since they couldn't test the window. So I removed the whole door and drove it over there and got in a pissing contest with the manager... they had to pass me bahahah

 

And believe me the door removal was not easy with all that wiring lol
