Haha well.. I’ll be in flight school these next two years. I won’t have time for much of anything truck related at all. So my plan is to get a stock truck that’s just easier to daily and stockpile parts

 

What kind of flight school? I'm in school for my A&P right now, that takes a minimum of 1940 hours of class time training. Minimum requirement for a pilot's license is 40 hours

Good grab for any one that travles with wife, daughters, or Girlfriends. We love ours, use it as a changing room and a bathroom for our portable toilet.

 

Have fun, are you going overseas? I thought I heard someone say the FAA didn't have regulation overseas, is that true @rmepilot ? Might have just been hear say but lucky you if you dont have to deal with FARs. You do have to deal with AFI's though which arent any better

Okay here are my reactions to my first highway drive on the gears. This is what i sent my wife:

Im in so much love with my truck again. First time on the highway and it feels so freaking good. Feels like i dropped all the weight off it and then some. So light feeling now. Im sooooo happy with it.Its so much nicer to drive now. When it does downshift it only goes to 5th and only on steep hills. And now that the trans isnt working so hard you can barely even tell its downshifting. Its so smooth .

 

Lol I'm kidding, but for real though this industry seems to thrive on regulation and liability. I suppose when you are putting someone's life in your hands though that isnt a bad thing

 

I felt the same way when I put the 4.88s in my truck. Not necessarily the shifting issues as much, though it doesn't downshift hardly at all anymore even when I put my foot down, but man going back to feeling lightweight and like the truck has even more power than stock is a good feeling. glad it's doing good for you matt

 

Part of the reason I'm scared to ever move up to an IA

 

At least as an A&P the only thing you can put back into service is after a 100 hour inspection, an IA is accepting responsibility for 500 hours and annual levels and major repairs for stuff. I dont really want the responsibility of having my signature on that 337

 

Maybe, just scary to know you have the final say on if that plane is going to fall out of the sky

Did yall have a period of time with your Wet Okole covers where they sort of smelled? Its not a bad smell, sort of an overbearing new car smell. I'm hoping it goes away with time.

 

yep. it goes away. leave your windows down when you can, or cracked lol. it's sorta overwhelming isn't it?

 

Yes it is. I thought I had just made a poor selection for my air freshener but that's definitely not the case. Lol.

Love the smell of neoprene in the morning, especially when my wetsuit has been in the truck overnight after a warm day.
