    Here’s what we did today.

@Sperrunner stripped a majority of the Van, most tedious part is using an air chisel to remove that god forsaken AstroTurf remains and adhesive.

Meanwhile, I worked on the front. I removed the rotten door panels, the long blown out Bose speakers, amp, and got 90% through removing the dash board before we ran out of time.

The carpet was not installed well at all. It was used commercial office building carpet cut to shape and glued together.

This is the plan for the ceiling. Some nice wood planks. The door and side panels will be black fiberglass reinforced plastic.

Someone installed a 2002 Bose stereo system out of a Nissan Pathfinder. The speakers were completely blown out.

This is the stock door panel and what appears to be the stock upholstery. I tried to save it but it was so rotten, it fell apart as I tried to remove it from the door.

Still a ways to go, but it’s looking better.

There's so much glue. Just endless glue.

Whoever converted it back in the day installed residential dense foam insulation, looks like it’s roughly from the 90’s.

Yeah spray in would totally trap in moisture. Would be super effective though.

Someone did go through the effort of trying to soundproof and insulate it, lots of cut up Yoga mat and that reflective bubble wrap stuff was all over.

There’s so much glue, someone did the entire interior with AstroTurf at one point.

This thing has been around. I had someone run the VIN. Miguel is owner #8. It was stolen two years ago and recovered.

The registration timeline on the history report over the course of 32 years is:

Albuquerque, NM > Fresno, CA > Lahoma, OK > Baltimore, MD > Pasadena, MD > Berkeley, CA > Oakland, CA > Richmond, CA > El Cerrito, CA

Lol i drove it after gutting the rear, its so damn loud lmao.

But yeah im thinking dyna deck the bottom, pack more insulation in the walls then cover with frp. Then probably spray glue and get some canvas for around the windows

You aren’t wrong. I was talking to the Pick-n-Pull employee and he said the woman who dropped it off “Bought it when she was high and then changed her mind.”
