I guess I’ve just always looked at it as my personal problem. I’ve always felt that way. I don’t blame my employer for my fate, or credit them with my success. If I don’t like my job, it’s my prerogative to leave, if I love my job, I better make sure my compensation makes mathematical sense for my clients, or boss. It’s not complicated.

I been a tradesperson for 29 years. I that time the days I’ve had off, against my will, number 0. And that was not the result of luck.....

That's why I like Ag, the industry is so starved for experienced good people that once you reach a certain level you can do whatever you want and no one gives a shit about your looks or sex. Well I shouldn't say that, we service some Hutterite colonies (look it up) and the worst ones definitely prefer the young blond female employees right out of university.

I will add. In my 29 years as a tradesperson, I’ve had zero guarantees of future employment and zero promises of stable income. The future is always an unknown.

That’s probably what kept me hungry and consistently employed or working.

I know of the Hutterites. An acquaintance of mine was a contract school-teacher for them. They have their own ways for sure.

That's a concept IIRC. They only list the 4 door models online and they look goofy as fuck.

    https://www.jeep.com/gladiator.html

I know a lot of guys are turned off of them now because the 4 door has a very long wheelbase and a horrid departure angle, like DCLB or worse, which isn't really what you would want in something like this.

Yeah the current 4 door looks dumb as hell. That 2 door looks ok, though.

It's not, that's either a photoshop or a concept. Jeep has been getting grilled over this. People really wanted a regular cab option but it looks like Fiat said no, probably because it would tank their Jeep CAFE requirements if those are still a big deal.

This is also why two door Jeep JLs still have rear seats even though they're pretty much as bad as access cab seats. They need the 4 passenger rating for CAFE.

I've yet to see a single Ranger or Gladiator in the wild. I'm starting to wonder if it will ever happen. lol

I gotta say, I’m glad my vehicle options are no beholden to Fiat. What a fate for something as iconically American as the Jeep.

That's the J6 concept. They will never make it. It was a one off for publicity along with three other one offs including one that was engined with an older 6.2L crate engine plus blower.

Just something to get the Jeep fans horny that Jeep won't do. I mean common they won't even do a Hellicat JL lol. They won't do a 2 door truck.

You’ll get your chance. When he gets it back, Smitty’s taking his Ranger on a coast-to-coast road trip to show all the TW peeps what it can do.

He’s got it at the dealer right now. He’s complaining the 10 speed shifts too often and wishes it would just hold 4th goddamit.

Weird. The F150 10 speed is like a gift from god to be honest. The best auto in a truck I've ever had. He could just get that tuned out as well since I've heard Ford didn't lock down the ECU as usual.

Also tons of Rangers here, as in I see one now every day or two. That being said there are zero on lot. One of my customers/friends owns two Ford dealerships. They've sold everyone before PDI, either right after it's printed out on a sheet and available or once it shows up and they call a couple of people who have been looking. The low sales numbers are a reflection of zero lot inventory and teething problems with the new line. I'd give it a year, just like GM, before sales stabilize. I still think the Tacoma will be king but Toyota won't be selling more than 50% of the mid sized trucks anymore.
