    Hey!
I have a 2017 TRDOR 4X4, 23,200 miles. I haven't been off-roading lately. This morning, I start my truck, no parking brake, put it in drive, I can feel power to the rear wheels but it feels like there are blocks under my front wheels, it won't go anywhere. I even got out to check. No blocks. I turn it off, try again and again. Same thing. The truck will not move, it feels like the front brakes are pressed but I assure you they are not.

Finally get it towed to local Toyota dealership. I am at work at this point and they turn it on and no problems. WTF!? This has happened before but I was able to just turn it off and back on and it was fine. Anyone hear of this before? What is going on?

    Thanks for any thoughts/info.

Possible chance your truck might still be engaged in 4lo?

    This is for sure weird

Do you use your parking brake when you Park? & If so, at what point do you release it? After you change gears or before?

This happened to me once. I actually spun the rear tire trying to pull out of a parking space, then got out to check under the truck. Thought I was going crazy.
After a restart it drove fine. That was 3-4000mi ago.

No, it was not in 4lo. I thought it might be 4 wheel drive related.

Just got contacted by dealership, passenger rear drum brake. Guess my intuition was off, haha. Something causing it to actuate on its own I guess?

When you parked the truck did you engage the parking brake? Then disengaged and tried to drive but it wasn’t going anywhere?

Or was the parking brake never engaged at all.

Stuck parking brake cable? I had that happen once on an old Colorado that I used to own. Since was an automatic transmission I never use the thing and it got rusty, and then I guess I pressed it once and it seized up.

I have an auto and still set the parking brake every time I park. Drove a manual for years and it’s just a habit.

If there's power going to the rear wheels then they would be spinning...are you saying they're spinning but the truck isn't moving? My guess then would be a frozen parking brake or issue with the drums.

If the wheels aren't spinning at all then something's probably up with the transmission, sounds like it's stuck in neutral

edit: nm I see you already got it figured out in another post
