2 years and 360 days 21100 miles from purchase and 36/36 on my 2016 TRD OR long box is about to run out .
I spent about 1 1/2 hours on her today . A good 45 mins underneath it while on ramps with a flashlight and eagle vision concentration . I found NO leaks and no problems to worry about on the underside or in the engine compartment (other than from my greasing my zerks ). I tried every light and accessory on it and all work . ( I needed the manual for this as I never use some of them )
I had 4 TSB's done just cause TW alerted me of them ha ha ( 2 for ECU /shifting and now on 04B04 ,1 for howling , and they retorqued the rear diff bolts) . The only real problem I had was the battery crapped out last month so I plopped in a NorthStar 27F for the replacement .
So for all the hoopla about the first year on the 3rd gen Tacoma being a bad truck in my opinion is wrong , I am totally happy with it and plan to have it until gas is hard to get .I am luvin my Tacoma .
Is there anything else I should look for before the 36/36 is over ?

Quoting my own post here but had to relate ! When my battery crapped out last month ,I bought the Northstar 27 F .I live more than 55 miles from a Toyota dealer and I submitted a claim for the battery going bad and Toyota came through as a standup company as I received a check for it today . Yeah Toyota for doing the right thing . This is something that will be a big factor when it comes time to replace the wife's suv in the future or if I ever need another truck .:dancingbacon::broccoli:

    Hello,

My I ask how you were able to find someone willing to part their access cab back seats? I'm trying to also convert my SR utility package to have back back seats.

    Thanks!

Picked up some new to me spindles, came off a 16 with less than 40K on them. Plan is to get em braced up with the weld on Total Chaos gusset kit, then maybe get em powder coated since a local Army retiree started a small business.

I came close to taking mine in for a free replacement when it crapped out at 18k miles as I am only 5 miles from a Toyota dealer but I didn't want another crappy battery from Toyota. I wish I would have submitted a claim. That was nearly a year ago now and I swapped to a 2nd gen tray and a 1030 amp better 27F battery. How much did they give you as if it matters now. Wifes 16 Ford did same thing at 18k miles.

I only expected at best ,the refund of the cost of a Toyota battery , but they sent me a check for what I paid for the northstar.
$350.Must be because I live in the boonies . Anyway , it really made an impression on me .

Man I regret not claiming mine now. That is very impressive. Now the truck is 3.5 years old so probably not worth the trouble. Lesson learned.

Steve: What brand 27F battery and did you have to buy a new battery hold down mount to fit? I have the 2nd Gen 27 tray installed, but still have the 24F battery, but not the Johnson Control (Toyota) one ~ it died in about 24 months.
