Mine failed!!!! Really...all this time and Toyota still producing crap instrument clusters. I’ve seen this in the 2nd gen too.

2019 Tacoma DCSB Manual, less than 1k miles
    Check engine light
Code reader says P0500 vehicle speed sensor, live data showed zero vss speed.
Yes, my speedo and everything else worked. Rough idle on occasion, even a misfire w/code another time.

End result...Dealer says instrument cluster!!!! Years! This has been going on for years!!! Somebody explain how vehicle manufacturers can get away with producing failing parts over and over.

Because people keep buying them? It’s just a failed part. Take it in for repair, and while you’re there ask to fix the open recalls as well...

It may have been going on for years but you're the first I've heard of. You're covered under warranty.

So it appears! I never found anything in the 3rd gen forum, but there was a couple in the 2nd gen. Thought I would put here for the next person.

A couple in the 2nd gen forum and now one in the third gen forum. I'd say this is not a common issue and is just an anomaly.

You might be right. Monday and all, I could be a bit touchy.
