I have a plano case and traction boards up there on DCSB prinsu trimmed down.

    DSC_0081.jpg

Plano is filled with recovery stuff

The traction boards I have are the cheap Xbull ones but they have held up great. The one potential downside is they don't stack very thin as you can see. I was planning on getting a nicer set that stacked a little thinner, but then realized I use them more to level out truck then I do for recoveries, and for leveling the truck the extra height is really nice.

EDIT heres a better side shot with hab closed fit is perfect imo

YES! Your truck is exactly what I was thinking about. Thanks for posting. I shoulda remembered.

Moving my MaxTrax up there will be nice, they are always in the way in the bed of my truck. My wife was against mounting them to the side of the Habitat, so on the roof is the plan once we get the Prinsu. And the Plano case will help keep my recovery and tie down straps better organized.

Since I got your attention... What lightbar are you running on the Prinsu? Do you like having the light up there? I've heard so many people talking about the glare off the hood from roof mount lights. I figure I'll do some Ditch lights and Bumper lights at some point and maybe just put an amber Traffic Control bar up top for stationary use, unless I hear more positives on the roof mount bar.

    Thanks again

I just bought a cheap one on Ebay. I use it a lot here in nv at night in the desert. Hood glare is a thing for sure but in most scenarios the extra light makes it worth it.

I don't like hood glare, so I mounted my LED lamps in the ARB and wired to a relay off the high beams.

Nice. I'm hoping one day I'll be able to slap some LP9s on top of the ARB. Hopefully the vertical structure of the bumper won't block all of the light that shoots out the side. But those light are well down the line. Winch before lights!!

I've thought about doing something like this at some point with mine but cutting holes definitely makes me nervous..

I was thinking about adding the trax-table and the shower room thing but I havent convinced myself that I need them....yet...

I use the Trax Table all the time just to set stuff on. Love it.

The shower gets used a lot as a privacy or changing area by a lot of people.

For anyone interested in options for improving on the built in foam mattress, the Exped Sim Comfort Duo 7.5 air mattress fits the width perfectly. It's not super thick either so it still packs down to a reasonable size too. You can also get a nice fleece cover for it

Definitely on my list of things to do... are you using it over the built in mattress? If so Im assuming you remove it when you fold the hab up?

Yeah, just on top of the foam, and for now I remove it when closed, but I can imagine it being possible to rig it to stay in place with the foam mattress and all you have to do is deflate it. The only thing I'd be concerned about is it somehow getting pinched or caught in something while closing the habitat but that seems pretty unlikely. The exped mattress actually has some velcro on the long edges that I think are there to allow it to be folded in half and used as a double-thick, single-person mattress, but those could probably be adapted to attach it to the foam mattress. You just might not be able to really use the fleece cover then since it has to cinch around the underside with a pull-string, but not that big a deal.

Has anyone found a marine grade plate to mount stuff to the floor ? Home Depot doesn’t have it and Amazon only carries 2x4 plywood marine grade.

Not practical having it fading the ground while camping though.
