What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Yesterday my buddies and I put on Bistein 5100s (front and rear) and an AAL in the rear. Then today I got my Falken Wildpeaks put on. Only sad part is one of my tires is flat leaking out of the TPMS region. Taking the tire into the tire shop in the morning .

 

Just got back from the driveway. Put in some SPC LR UCA's, took out factory shocks. I PB blasted everything last night, and tonight before packing it all in I PB blasted the rear. My delivery from wheelers with my 6112's and 5160's should get here tomorrow - and I've had the HD dakars sitting in my garage for about a week. Still not sure what notch I should put the 6112's at (I've got a compressor).

 

Is that a product you bought or did you make that? That’s brilliant

It is a custom piece from wethepeopleholsters.com no pictures on install, but I just popped off the two screws holding the belt clip, and used those to attach them to the Molle panel. Then installed the panel.

 

Are these 6112s back in stock?

 

Agreed , but the beauty of the SR bezel is that it is molded in black so you never have to worry about rock chips. I've painted and dipped grilles before and you eventually get chips. This is just one less thing to maintain. That's worth the $105 to me.

 

I've had grilles plasti dipped for years and never had rock chips on them. Maybe you didnt go thick enough on the derp? The plastic bezel has got its perks like you said though.

 

Really more a function of where you drive I guess. I applied it fairly thick.

My wife just got a new MDX and we immediately had Xpel applied to the front end. Already caught a rock chip completely through the bra on a trip from Jacksonville to Houston!

I did learn how to "touch-up" PlastiDip too. Simply rub the affected area with a little mineral spirits to even it back out.

Did you dip the entire grille or just the surround? One thing with getting the OEM black surround is that it’s not a perfect match for the grille. It still looks good (and WAY better than the chrome one), but you can see the difference.

 

Agreed! I also hit mine with a few coats of the glossifier so it matched the black chrome 18/19 grille a little better. Don't see why anyone would spend the $100+ when this can be done for under $10 but hey, to each his own.
