A'bundh didn't used to be so pricey :(. As I'm sure you know. don't buy it anymore, just feels like I'm getting ripped off even though I know it's probably due to supply and demand. It is higher proof than the nadurra I think. Dalmore is great cigar whiskey from what I hear too, but I don't smoke personally.

Dug into Teeling Single Grain yesterday. Gotta say, I wasn't too impressed by it. I might add some water next time and see if that does anything. I feel like single grains need a lot more aging before they can compete with the malts for complexity. But that's just me, if anyone has recommendations that could change my mind I'm all ears.

Dalmore is pretty hit or miss for me. Loved the 12, didn't care for the 15. The Cigar Malt is fine, but it's $150 and I couldn't justify that a second time.

As for the glasses, I like the idea of the compass with the regions around it, provided it doesn't get too cluttered. I don't know if it would be hard to read by the time it shrinks down the glencairn size.

Otherwise, someone posted an example with the letters inside of a barrel. I thought that was REALLY cool, too. Maybe the compass inside the barrel, then a name around it?

Finally opened the Suntory Toki a couple nights ago. Not impressed... If anyone finds themselves in SW Utah and you bring me something I'll drink, I'll trade you.

Going to agree on a design, get it to @Kanyon71 , then starting listing commitments. He'll fire laser beams at the Glencairn glasses and we'll pay him for it!

Suggestions on the name of our little whiskey clique? Design ideas?

    All suggestions welcome!

I’m going to place an initial order of glasses here shortly in preparation for this to kick off.

I'm in for at least two. The compass idea is cool, I think "Tacoma" or "Tacoma World" should be on it somewhere.

Got to try out some Booker's Kentucky Chew last night...

@bvbull200 told me it's hot. Truth! That first saturating sip was more than I was expecting!

Definitely full of spices! Almost sweet upfront and then a bevy of baking spices and peppers follows. after a few sips of acclimation, I rather enjoyed it. I had two pours actually  Looking forward to trying more varieties for sure!

it either mellows out a lot more one the bottle breaths or I've just gotten used to it, the 2018-03 is my current go to bottle in my cabinet. I'm about 2/3rd through it, planning on buying much more.

It always makes me think of Ron Burgundy describing Sex Panther.

Well, if you translated it to a description of the palate instead of the nose.

All that wonderful uncut, unfiltered, barrel proof deliciousness hitting you with the subtlety of a stack of bricks.

Once settled in, though, there is plenty of complexity.

I'm guessing a little of both. I swear some of them lose a bit of their edge a month or so after opening, but the science seems to suggest otherwise. Could be the placebo effect for all I know, but I know exactly where you're coming from.

Probably too complicated for a little glass now that I think of it...

I like that! I'd do a little different font on the letters - something more old-timey or something, but as a concept, that is REALLY sweet.

@tcBob , we're looking at doing a little glencairn glass group buy and call this little corner of the internet the TacomaWorld Whiskey Club. Can you get with me and @Kanyon71 over whether we can explore that or if we need to go a different route?
