I think they were going to, but I heard they canceled it before it made it to TV?
    But I really don't know.

It was canceled by NBC in 2009 then picked up by the History Channel this year.

No it won't be as good as the UK version but it is going to be set up the same with missions, star in a reasonably priced car, and a mystery driver (stig).

    The host's are horrible....

What happened to the original pilot with Adam Carolla. That would have been awesome. That dudes knows a sh!t ton about cars. It also would have been a lot funnier to watch.

Adam Carolla, Jay Leno, and other would be the best top gear.

leno would not make for a good host. he's not crazy enough. he may know cars but it needs to have host that are a little more laid back.

ldk, that show seems alright but it wouldnt be the same without the original hosts. to me it makes no sense having two of the same tv shows even if their both in different countries

different countries, different cars. The uk version typically only shows cars sold in europe. I imagine the US version would only show cars sold in the US.

True very true. Come to think it would be cool if they did suv and truck tests.

I don't see why they wouldn't since they are much more popular here than they are in europe.

agreed. one of the reason i love hte UK version is the accents and the funny names for things. dont get me wrong, those guys are funny either way, but their accents make them just that much more funny (just like monty python)

so does that mean our top gear will be popular over there with our accents?
