I never had any. But I know a few guys who have come to me with that issue and I can’t rebuild them either.

Shit on ops thread some more. He asked a question and you spray your fantasy 3.0,then spray your mediocre shit pic. Why don’t you help him out instead of trying to swing your dick. You don’t know me if you think I don’t appreciate hard work, I do it every day. Check my build if you need to see my shit

Wow, ok, and you don't know me either. I can show you over 40 years of vehicles that are kept at the level I maintain them and I like what I do to them. Swinging dicks has nothing to do with it also. Glad you work hard and you have a great day. Take care friend and good luck with your shit.

I'm pushing 3 in the front with 700lb springs and 1/2 spacers. They are super smooth, but it handles like a sports car on the highway with no sway bar, but it'll run big gnarly whoops in the desert without issues way faster than my 5100/5160s ever dreamed of.

Hey, guy, ...... Quit trying to point out that bigger doesn't mean better. I'm sure everyone that has 3.0 shocks on a Tacoma has cooked a set of 2.5s, so they know exactly what they are buying..... and not buying them for Instagram circle jerk bragging rights because they are the most expensive bolt-in bullshit available.:rofl::rofl:

I wasn’t sure about using spacers with setup but I might use 1/4” ones now that I know. Mine are 600# but I only plan on a Southern Style bumper. I will check out build thanks for info

    Oh... my bad. :anonymous:

I sometimes forget that just because I've never heard of nor seen anyone fade a 2.5" shock on a MT setup doesn't mean that the mall crawlers or Instafamous crowds haven't. I must just not be that high speed. :pout:

Especially being these guys are arguing over how clean their trucks are. That's a new level.

Mine are only 1/4" spacers. My bumper and winch will be 200lbs plus my sliders.

You can't cook shocks stopping every other mile for staged action shots when you do it for the gram. But even if they do get hot, you just gotta do some of those sweet puddle splash shots and they'll stay nice and cool.

On a serious note, I've never heard of anyone cooking a 2.5 at all on a Tacoma long travel or stock travel. I'm loosely considering installing 2.0 bypasses in the rear on my 2019 and seeing how they do.

I've heard of a few LT guys managing to heat them up in the rear but that's a special application and an aggressive user. Most of us would be fine with a 2.0 in the rear, especially for trails, and wont heat a 2.5 up in the front. A 2.5 w/ resi is more than adequate for any stock/MT setup.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
I've heated my bilstein 5100 from moderate wheeling. It was all day but trail was moderate. They were toast, not even there anymore. It felt like a water bed. I got 2.5 resi's in the back now.

@Blackdawg I believe mentioned he had a lot of fade on his 2.5 non resi front coils on his MT setup. Its all down to how you wheel I guess.

Totally how you drive and the terrain. I've faded my 2.5'' Kings on my truck. Doesn't take much just more long periods of bashing and romping.

Everything is subjective to how you drive your vehicle and conditions. That's why I clarified for LT applications. A few things to point out.

5100s are not a 2.0 shock. they are smaller and don't have nearly the oil capacity of a 2.0 w/ resi.

I'm assuming you have an IFP shock? That's believable. That's why they make reservoirs.

I'll also notate that Kings typically run less nitrogen pressure. Cavitation is the product of a few factors but oil capacity and nitrogen pressure are two of the biggest players.

Reservoirs don't really help displace heat you know.
