Boss shows up at 12:30. I have 3 contractors here, all 3 over $100 a man hour. All my crew too...Moving ice machines. Boss wants to talk. Expensive help stands and waits. Boss gives me speech about "efficient use of labor".

I see departure date moving backwards....

Well during the interview he already told me about the bennifits and he wanted to start me at a certain pay level and as I learn more I would be progressed which I acknowledged I was content with what he was offering. I felt it odd it was even discussed at that point but then when I got home and had an email with the HR lady saying he wanted her to proceed with checking my refferences I saw it as perhaps a very possitive sign. With that being said I don't really see negotiations

Well I did it. I sent the HR lady, who is also the winemakers wife, an email. I told her I was busy tomorrow with going to a job fair but if at any other time her husband would like me to come and help bottle or with anything else I was willing. I told her I just thought it would be neat to see how things work.

I guess we will see. It pays about 2/3 what I was makeing which the insurance should help make up a bit of that. I have managed to get a little excited about this regardless of my efforts not to. It is only 9.7 miles from home instead of the 65 miles on way i was driving. I hope this works out but trying very hard not to get my hopes up as history for me has proven they usually get dashed.
