You just have to change which circuit you tap for the relay on signal for the pump right? If you want to change it? I like it, it circulates the fluid in the summer and winter at random intervals. Might help with heat soak when you stop in the summer and keep the lines from freezing up as bad in the winter....my 2 cents

The freezing part I never thought of. Good point.

Aside from the occasional scare when you're working under the truck, I don't see ANY advantage to performing this mod. If you're concerned about battery draw down in the long run, you should be installing a kill switch anyways, the evap tests are going on in the background anyways.

Thats why i recently bought a battery tender. I drive once a week or less. My battery was taking a dive and i wanted to save it and more importantly my alternator.
Its been a few months and it starts like its new.

Here it is all wired in with a quick connect and a ctek extension.
Granted its in a garage so i leave my window cracked to get to the connection, ymmv

U could run the end to the grill or out the cowl maybe. I chose this route because i CANNOT forget to unplug it when i open the door to get in the truck

Winter or not, coolant is not supposed to freeze. That is the whole point of antifreeze. Lol. o_O

Well there's a large market for block heaters out there....I think there's a reason. :boink:

It's to prevent cryogenic (kidding on that temperature) starts which taxes the internals. It's not because the coolant is frozen.

Of course I don't live in that general area, so I am not an expert in that subject matter.

With correct coolant this past winter there were a few times my pump was struggling on really cold mornings. I really think the coolant was close to frozen. I was most concerned about the heat exchanger poping.

I would actually be more inclined to believe that Bosch pump was struggling before the coolant being frozen.

Now I want to see the absolute freezing temperature of coolant on MSDS.

I think the range is capped off around -36? You're right it's supposed to keep it from freezing and in most conditions it does.

Mines frozen solid a couple times with Purple Ice and no leaks for me and it’s a good thing these bosch pumps are magnetically turned. Just swapped to new coolant the other day. Got pretty much all the old fluid out thanks to my air compressor ;)

So I just talked to Nate at Smoothflow and will be ordering a 2.8" pulley from him. So far I have read mix reviews about needing to upgrade the fuel pump. Some say do it, other says no need to. I will probably do it anyways.

You guys recommended what type of pump a few pages back but I can't seem to find it. If someone can direct link me to one (price isn't an issue, I care more for reliability and functionality). Someone also said the URF Fuel Pump upgrade kit is a good kit? Any feedback on that? Just trying to have every lined up for when the supercharger comes back from the rebuilder.

Thanks again you guys for the help!

You dont have to have one, but it's a sensible upgrade. 255lph urd works great for me.
