Its a safety feature, I don't blame them for not wanting to do the work. If the tsb alters the calibration and then those features stop working or have an issue they are left troubleshooting the problem.

In reality they should do the TSB and have you sign a waver that if additional troubleshooting or repairs are needed on the system, as a result of your modifications impacting expected functionality that you would be on the hook for labour and parts to make the system work correctly.

I ran my recall done last week.
All I have done so far is 265/75/16 tires.
Technically modified since I have larger tires.
They never said a thing about them.
Done at South Bay Toyota in Gardena, CA

Its been tested and certified as a stock truck under different conditions, including a loaded bed. It hasnt been tested with random suspension. If anything you're adding another reason they can argue out of it. Maybe your lifted suspension has a softer rear than stock and angles nose up more than stock with the same load, on top of the front being 2 inches up. Or maybe not. The point is they havent tested it and arent gonna calibrate it and assume liability on a radar set up they havent tested.

But not the 2016, because they don't have electric sliding rear glass. :boink:

What the hell does this TSB have to do with what angle your truck is at? The TSB is to fix water intrusion is it not? Issues with TSS going off incorrectly are a symptom of water intrusion as per the TSB.

If the TSB was for sensors going off relative to their current alignment then I could see how having a lifted vehicle would be grounds for refusal; but not to fix a damn leak.

Dude, Toyota writes the rules, not you. When you bought the truck you agreed to this.
Now, you have posted this comparison twice. Let me explain:

At stock height with a fully loaded bed, the TSS will work and Toyota will back that up. Let's call this "X angle."
If you lift it two inches, and then fully load the bed, the angle will be "X" + 2 angle. Toyota will not be responsible because they didn't test this. Get it?

So X angle is with a loaded bed. Then Y angle is without a loaded bed. The sensor works both at angle X (Which would be variable itself due to different weights the bed could hold) and Y angle. The sensor is capable of working at multiple different angles. That's the point I'm getting at. What we don't know is what is the range the sensor works within? And are certain modified trucks operating outside of the range?

How can you not understand that it does not matter. Toyota makes the rules and your logic does not apply.

Of course they are, and if they are in an accident and try to blame Toyota they will laugh.

What you fail to understand is that all his points are valid and if it comes down to it I bet Toyota loses in a lawsuit.

I JUST did the OEM TRD Pro grill swap and my VIN is on the TSB list. I'll just take 30 min out of my day and swap the grill back for a day or 2 to get the TSB done.

I have an OEM TRD Sport/OR grill on my SR5 and 265/75r16's. The sensor is technically in the same spot, and its an OEM grill. I am curious to see what they have to say when I bring it in for my 15k service.

Just got back from the dealer for the recall. 2018 OR DCSB. I have a pro grill installed with T4R Pro rims and 265/70/17 KO2’s, stock suspension. They performed the fix with no issues. My work order says that they inspected the millimeter radar sensor, no replacement needed, reprogrammed the ECU and performed repair B. Repair B is a piece of foam wrapped around the upper passenger side screw post on the sensor. If you weren’t looking for it you’d never notice it.

Fine...... I'll risk it. I'm at 1,800 miles right now. I'm gonna hold out until 5k.
