People have been for a while. Hence why there is no clear versions left. Sounds like the All Season version is getting pretty scarce now too.

 

Help me please. Where does the Male Trigger Plug go here?

 

In the OEM H4 plug hanging out the front of your truck.

 

Pretend you never saw that. I figured it out. Male Trigger to driver lamp plug, then ceramic plug to actual headlight. Right?

Ended up working great. Quite a project with the headlight replacement too but it all turned out fine. I didn't have time to aim them because the brewery was closing in 7 hours and by God we better get going. So I've got one pointing at the gophers and one pointing at the moon but I'll get that figured out tomorrow.

 

Noticed I have one of my Morimoto XB fogs that's flickering. I wonder what I did to cause that?

 

Not related. Likely a driver failure. If the back heat sink is clogged with mud it may overheat which will cause flickering, something to check if you play in mud and if it is on the passenger side which has the vent in the splash guard.

The KC G4’s are still by far the best plug and play product though.

 

I got under there and dinked around and I think I have a bad connection. Of course it started to sprinkle and we're leaving town so I'll have to dig into it later. Got the headlights aimed at least .

If I did decide to drunk purchase these, is the heavy duty harness I've already intalled going to be of any benifit to them or would I return to the stock wiring (which would mean I could sell the harness and recoup a few $)? And beyond that, how would these compare to the HIR 9011's, which since I have the harness I could do, but haven't yet.

 

Well, they won’t fit the 05-11 Tacoma’s, so it is somewhat a non-starter. But yes, those are them. With some good googling you can find them for about $265 then hunt for coupon codes. A HD harness provides no benefit to low draw LEDs, so it could and should be removed. The HIRs will be brighter by far, but the KCs will have a more disciplined beam pattern with far less glare. For the 05-11 trucks the best LED option is a fog pod retrofit, the current Rigids are too blue IMO, so I would use their new selective yellow SAE fog pods due out this month, or wait for the white 5000k Baja Designs ones due out in June. Pricing for the Rigids is likely going to be more expensive than the KCs once you factor in the required adapter mounting plates.

The 85/80w will have a better low beam than the 100/90w bulbs.

 

Good, I was worried the 100w would melt the headlight lens

 

They wouldn’t melt the housings. They might melt your stock plastic connectors though, hence the harness running ceramic ones.

You can see the output of the 85/80w All Seasons in post #1520 here. They are warmer in color temp.
