Currently have a bundle of cable, internet, phone.

House sold first day listed, so getting ready to move to temp housing while new place is still under construction.

I'd like to keep my current number, but don't want to give it back to the cable thieves or return to obscenely expensive POTS.

What have you found to work? Magic Jack type solutions, or other ideas?

    TIA!

Time to drop your land line and just go cellular.

Sorta kinda agree, and we do have 2 smartphones with great plans.

But I have reasons I'd like to keep the landline active for a little longer. Just looking for the best way to do it and dump Spectrum at the same time.

Google voice. Likely won't be able to port you old number over but you can pick a new number and it would likely be the last number you need. And the things you can do with it... Check it out.

Know about it. You can port landline to it if you port to a cell number first, which is easy with just a sim card purchase.

However you can't make 911 calls from Google Voice last I checked.

I can do that if I need to, but I want to move it to another carrier.

Yes. Once you get to the new place, right.
