4xInnovations weld-on sliders- DOM Tubing, Square main tube, quoted 4-6 weeks and arrived at 3 weeks around $401.74 shipped

4xInnovations IFS skid- quoted 4-6 weeks and arrived in 2 weeks $330.92 shipped

4xInnovations Transmission Skid- quoted 4-6 weeks arrived in 3 weeks $176.22 shipped

4xInnovations Transfer Case Skid- quoted 4-6 weeks, 31 MAR ordered (just over 3 weeks to date), awaiting fulfillment $322.26 shipped, when it does

4xInnovations rear swingout high clearance bumper with dual fuel can mounts- quoted 5-8 weeks, ordered 4 MAR (just over 7 weeks as of today), notified last week it was delayed and should be done this week, $1719.80 shipped

It's not that hard to update customers with changes to lead times, or accurately quote them. I was just contacted today about preferences on my bumper and reassured it's almost done.

Edited to add my rear bumper shipped 24 APR at exactly 8 weeks

I had my Expedition leaf springs and Fox 2.0’s installed by an off-road company here in the Asheville area. Guy does great work but he was saying it’s just not easy finding the workers, his business would be booming but it’s hard to find a good hand. It’s a dying industry like many other trades. 7 million jobs available and no one to fill the positions. The push in the 80’s for everyone to go out and get a college degree, less kids got into tech schools. Once a company gets that big, it’s hard to find a good welder to stick with them when that welder can make $100k+ working on pipe lines.

Yeah, I'm sure it's hard for smaller fab shops to keep work when big shops pay better wages. Same thing happened here, this company's wages are the highest in the area and everyone far and wide left their jobs to work here.

Yep, the Off-road shop I mentioned above, OGRE off-road in AVL, owner walked into a dealership and asked their lead master mechanic what it would cost him to steal him. He said he had no choice but to pay him the money.

It's why I'm considering just starting a fab shop on the side out of my garage, and only selling pre-built items. (So I avoid the mistakes a lot of places seem to be making)

I will never again pay for any fabricated or constructed product before delivery other than making a good faith deposit. If a company can't finance their own operations they can't be trusted with my hard earned money.

If you put out a good product and have the money to have some stuff ready to be delivered then you should be pretty busy. I’ve been wanting an Elite “type” of front bumper for years now and just haven’t found one yet. If someone came close to that style I’m sure they’d sell like hot cakes.

The problem seems to be being unable to keep up with business coming in or expanding before they're ready for the workload. Either that or overspending.

I just think places that need to play catch up should put a hold on incoming orders till they are caught up. Seen other companies stop taking orders before while they play catch up. Once money has been transferred you have an obligation to that customer to get it done, not to the ones who are waiting to pay.

I want to design some that are a little different than others. I also don't want to step on anyone's toes. But I do learn from other companies for build processes and business do's and don'ts.
I'll probably never make it big, but it'd be cool to see my work on other's trucks.
