I rarely buy from Grainger cause I'm just a small time guy with no discounted account from them. But they're just down the street so if I need something same day that's great. I buy buy from Zoro which is owned by Grainger but with way better prices & do sales.

I've never ordered from Fastenal or Motion Industries yet for the same reason, no account, prices are too high. I can find what I need elsewhere for much cheaper.

MSC & Mcmaster is where I buy the most. MSC has a location right down the street & I do get discounts with my account. On top of that my sales guy usually tries to give me extra discounts whenever he can.

 

That was fun... Sorta like museum fun... But still fun I guess. Even if the gift shop items cost more than a down payment on a house

 

I seem to always need odd ball metric fasteners.

That $2 item I forgot to order from Mcmaster was one. M8 SHCS, 70mm length, but fully threaded. Only Mcmaster & Fastenal carries them in small quantities. I actually didn't think it even existed but sure enough Mcmaster had it.

 

motion industries is great for me... im the only tech at the dealer that'll replace bearings in tensioner pulleys instead of replacing the whole tensioners
half hour less labor because i dont have to take the tensioner completely off, pop old bearing out, press new in.. $15 part vs 150 part.... I keep a whole stock of idler bearings for customers to buy from me lol.

 

I miss working at the company I used to work for. Only cause I got to take advantage of their suppliers, discounts, & even really cheap shipping rates when I needed to ship heavy items.

Albany County Fasteners, Belmetric, & Greschlers Hardware are some others. I've gotten odd ball stuff from them. Metric Specialties is great too but they're local'ish, can't purchase or see what they have on their website. They like a 20 min drive for me though. I've only been there 3 times so far but the dude is so cool, everytime I have been there he just gave me what I need for free cause of the low quantity that I needed. I actually went there today looking for that M8 bolt I needed.

I used to live near Tacoma Screw and it was a great resource. I like BelMetric too, they had the weird metric plugs and crush gaskets I needed.
