You’ll need something that effectively dyes the plastic material. It’s not conducive to any sort of adhesive holding up over time so I bet vinyl would just peel off if it got warm enough.

I myself would like a black dash but I’d be worried it would start to flake off, either by itself or with rubbing over time. Would be a mess to fix.

Looks like the elo96 dakars? Did you get the SES or off road timbrens?

I am running dakars and debating right now between sumo springs or timbrens. I know they both have their pros/cons. Would like to hear the ride report after you get a chance to use them under various conditions.

I am running Dakar’s and I got the off road timbrens. I’ll keep you posted on how they preform once I get some mileage on them.

You might be on to something here.... this video seems to show how to paint/dye the plastic without peeling or chipping. I'm gonna have to try this out!

I use an empty plastic bottle under that nipple.... Worked great for 10 years until I forgot it this last oil change. It hung in there for about 1,500 miles until I figured out what the "bad belt tensioner bearing" sound REALLY was!!

 

That's the model I'm debating on, I'm excited to hear the report!
