Thought WTF was funny, just a quick one with compass behind so as not to clutter, can change lettering. Have to run to work.

Really clean looking! W.T.F. is a good one too. I had to search for an F to make it work. If this style, make it an 8 point compass rose behind the barrel?

I'm liking what @BadBrains is making too. A basic barrel with a compass behind. Just messing around to get ideas out there.

 

Just remember anything black is what actually gets etched.

DON'T make it red that tells the laser to cut through and I think that would be bad for this purpose.

 

Yall are sure making these glasses a complicated endeavor. Hell, I'd just etch

Whiskey in some sort of nice cursive font and be done with it. I'd also put TacomaWorld on the other side...if Bob approves.

I took the circle off the compass because with an 8 point, it was looking like a ship's wheel.

 

Can anyone source the michters barrel strength rye? I think it was just released in April but we have yet to see any down here in N.M.

It's no placebo. Every time you open the bottle and expose the whiskey to air the alcohol begins to evaporate which ever so slightly lowers the proof and the whiskey starts to oxidize. You'll notice some last/age better than others. I've noticed the higher proof bottlings tend to last longer, but it's also how many times you access the bottle and introduce more air.

If you're keeping some really nice bottles for long periods of time you can buy cans of compressed argon (a neutral gas) you can spray into the bottle to keep it from oxidizing. They do the same thing with wine, or move it into smaller containers to keep the amount of air in the bottle to a minimum.

That's what I did to save the last couple ounces of my 43yr.
