So I went to bed after the 3rd Vegas goal because it was late and I figd the game was over. That was a mistake. Still haven't seen the controversial hit. Either way, what a comeback. I can see Vegas being jacked but I think they got lucky on the high stick goal being upheld. Looked clearly too high, in my opinion. And they let in 4 goals on a PP lol. I mean, come on. Another thing I'm going to say is E Karlsson is easily the best puck-moving defenseman in the league. Dude has a bad groin, still gets like 9 assists. Skates better than probably any D-man in the league. It's just awesome watching him play. I know I made fun of him earlier in the series, but he is really amazing.

Leafs game was whatever. They made costly mistakes, pretty much the story of the game. I know Babcock will take heat. I do think his ice time distribution is questionable but can't really say that lost them the game. Also, earlier in the year I said Marleau and Nylander deals were bad deals. Nothing this year convinced me that they weren't , so I'm sticking by that.

It was an interference or maybe a roughing call but there is no way that should have been a 5 minute major.

 

Tip of the hat to the Sharks for making the most of the penalty though. I mean they did score 4 goals during that power play. But I can totally see why all the Knights bandwagon fans would be upset about it.

 

Ya I got a good look at it. For sure not worthy of a 5min. Pavelski was just caught in a weird spot, going down. For sure a 2min, I'd say. But like I said, they got lucky on the high-stick goal. To me, that was clearly high. And you can't let in 4 goals on that major and blame the refs lol.

He was the only Leaf, apart from Andersen, who gave his all every game. I'm hoping that as part of the changes coming this summer, or what I believe will be fine tuning, is handing Tavares the C.

I'm guessing Kadri and Gardiner are gone this year. Nylander will move to center the third line and the Leafs will go looking for another high minute defender.

I know, it's shocking. The largest fan base in the NHL doesn't riot with tough losses in the playoffs. We just keep hoping for the future. Honestly the day after I can say I really enjoyed the series and even the trash talk here. We will be back next year with another year of experience on this core and hopefully the real Nylander.

Expansion drafts are a joke. The NHL weakens it’s product by operating like this.

The best part about the Expansion draft is that Seattle gets to operate under the same version and Vegas is exempt .

 

Yeah, it’s complete trash. I’d much rather have MAF in Pittsburgh over Murray. Murray plays best when he knows he’s about to sit, and played accordingly knowing MAF was ready to go as a #1.

 

I have never rooted against a team as much as I did last year, and I hate the caps.

 

Man I dunno about that. Murray was the best Penguins where he was healthy and paying most games, down the stretch. He was not at all to blame for this year's playoff exit. MAF had 2 years to out-play Murray and maybe change things and was out-played both years. It's frustrating how so many Pens fans try to break-down Murray's game and place blame every time the guy gives up a goal. The Pens are a terrible defensive team. MAF plays behind 1 of the most structured team's in the league now and he still gets swimming (see Caps series last year and last night 3rd period and OT for prime examples) at times.

Yes, pretty much. I like Vegas but ppl need to ease up acting like they got the series taken from them.

 

I’m not saying MAF was perfect, but MAF’s best is better than Murray’s best. He played a better series this year, but he still lays down and lets in just as many questionable goals as MAF did.

One thing he doesn’t do is chase pucks like MAF, and I’m very happy with that. It’s so frustrating to watch MAF chase or be what feels like half way to the blue line at time.

Reading GMJR’s comments about how the defense is good is baffling. I don’t know how he gave that interview with a straight face.
