    I thought it would be nice to have a shortened shifter pole to make it more like a car and especially after adding a short shifter which makes the shifter stick up like a old manual bus. Threading the lever further down would be a challenge because it's attached to stuff that probably would make it too unbalanced. I guess cutting it and welding the threaded part would be easiest but those threads made me think of it

    I don't have a manual so not sure what the shape of shifter looks like. I'm not a fan of cutting & welding shifterscause I've seen way too many break. But then again you ain't drag racing your truck.

    If the shifter does have a thick area then it probably is weighted but not all shifters are balanced like that. Again not sure what it looks like but if it's got a non tapered area & no crazy angle might be able to hold it in the lathe, machine down, rethread.

    So the length of the lever (not throw) on the short shifter is actually longer than stock?
