TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I would love to stick with an aftermarket intake by all means, but for practicality purposes if I could have my cake and eat it too (for visual CA emissions purposes), I would love to run the Tundra intake, even if work is involved to make it work. I already have the air pump relocate brackets on hand ready to move it, but I'm not going to move it until all avenues of what is involved in making that work are taken care of collectively.

2.8 is good. Go with that instead of 2.85.

 

I bought that one from URD for $25. Unimpressive to say the least, just some simple foam tape. I’m sure there are particular heat properties to it but mine didn’t have it on rebuild and I haven’t installed it yet.

 

Well we better meet somewhere so you can show me how to do that. I vaguely remember my AEM Uego controller having the ability to output data. Those wires are buried under the dash somewhere...

 

I would like to run the suggested bigger oil filter to get the extra .5qt of oil in the system. With how horrid our dipstick is at telling us where the oil level is, what are y'all doing to check the level? Or are you just sending the bigger filter and dumping 6qts and calling it a day?

 

We'll get you squared away. I think we need to get a mod/dyno day meet setup for us near the DFW and surrounding areas.

 

How much was the uego controller? My gauges have that as an option.

 

I dump in 6 and call it a day. Bad practice I know, but whatever. Do as I say, not as I do.

I once added what the manual calls for without checking...ended up way overfilled. Never again did I do that. Had a rough idle for weeks that I couldn’t figure out.

 

But what are you checking? The dipstick is terrible... it really only tells me if I have oil in my engine at all, not the level. Never had this dipstick issue on any other vehicle.

 

Sounds like the same crap the Nissan V6 engines do.

My dipstick reads fine.
