True. I’ll read through it again tomorrow. As well as work out getting those wires from Craig, and ordering a real svanner.

    Thank you guys.

I drove around on two bad front speed sensors for a while. I still had the speedo from the rear sensors, but the ABS lights and VSC lights were on.

I also had my exhaust dump too close to the axle and over time the rear speed sensor wire insulation degraded. When I drove in heavy rain the speedo would go out completely.

Try disconnecting that wire all together. Wires may be touching in the harness.

Interesting. Bad wheel speed sensors and the speedo worked? Hmmm.

Yes Sir. That or many other things. That’s why I was asking how to diagnose it.

I'm actually saving up for a dual sport dirtbike. Only money going into the truck is to fix it up.

    Yep.
FYI - I have my stock 05 cluster if you need it for testing. Given there are a lot of differences, but it may rule out a bad cluster.

Nope.. but also haven't had a chance to stop to get it scanned. Been really busy with work. Although it's off I don't notice a difference when I'm driving. Hmmm

Thank you Mojo. I appreciate that. I’m really hoping it doesn’t go that far though.

East coast 4Runner jamboree is coming up, all Toyota’s welcome. This is the first 4wheeling event I ever attended back around 2007. 62A29257-CEDD-465A-8ED6-D30F8DB0FCAE.jpg

I was looking at code readers myself a few days ago. This is the least expensive well reviewed one that does abs https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MR7FZS1/ref=sspa_mw_detail_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I just cleared a p2197 code and replaced the sensor. Waiting for the cel to go back into operation and see if it’s fixed for sure. Hoping I don’t have to start chasing stuff myself. GL hhg.

Edit: I just bought this simple guy for myself jic but really hoping it’s fixed ANCEL AD310 Classic Enhanced Universal OBD II Scanner Car Engine Fault Code Reader CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool - Orange https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LX0GI52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_K1jWCb8YR89TZ . If anyone local ever needs to use lmk.

I have several code reading options.

I have a handheld code reader that I bought in 2003, a VAG-COM for fixing crappy VWs and a Tactrix cable that works with Techstream. I have a mini VCI cable that works with Techstream as well. It can do a lot of the functionality except for flashing/programming.
