Sold the reg cab couple years ago, my kids are grown and I wouldn't go back either. So far happy with the acc cab, does everything I need.

Had a regular cab Ranger for 25 years. Now that I've got this access cab, I couldn't go back. Love the room behind the front seats for tools, water and guns.

    A thing or two...
2nd gen 4 cyl was never available with a tow package or as a TRD trim level. That's either a v6 or someone slapped TRD stickers and a tow hitch on a 4 cyl, and the dealer is trying to rip off some uninformed buyer.

Well it's official, I'm no longer in the 255/85R16 club.
Recently replaced with 265/75R16s...slightly shorter, and a bit wider.

The slightly shorter tires seem to carry speed better uphill in 4th gear.

The 255s (BFG MTs) only lasted about 2yrs...hope these yokohama last longer :)

I was a victim of the TRD 40% off sale. Received my 17inch TRD sema wheels and now to decide on tires. Thinking I'll go skinny 245/70/17 but looking for feed back from my 4 banger brethren. Any experience to share from a stock suspension fit / power / height / brand perspective?

    Run a 4ply 245-75-17 on my last tacoma, think that's a perfect size for a 4cyl with 17" wheels

Anyone have advice on a good 3 in lift? Looking at Bilstein with OME coils but not too sure which coils are the best for our 4cyl AC weight? Thanks for any help

Hey man, bilsteins are tried and true. Super common and reliable setup

However, if you want to do 3 inches of lift, you'll want to get aftermarket UCAs in order to get proper alignment. If you keep it under 2.5 inches the stock arms are fine

For reference, here is my truck sitting at about 2 inches of lift on 6112s and 5160s with an AAL

Yeah, I just think he missed the part about this being a 2.7 AC thread. No harm, but the 4 came with a 5 speed standard.

Hey man thanks for the response, truck is looking awesome. What ome coil do you recommend for the 2.7 AC. Or are you on stock coils with the bilsteins set at .85? also what size tires I like the look haha. Thanks again

Edit: why the different shocks also? Accounting for the camper shell weight? not too familiar with everything but really trying to get on a 2.5in lift now haha

Yes it was kinda stuff. It had the 620# coils which only give you 1.6” of lift so I bumped it up to the .85 notch on the 5100’s for 2.5” lift total. So heavy coils on a light truck then a little preload and it was stiff but not bad
